UPDATE – Investigations into alleged homicide of Dominique Marchand and Daniel Langlois

Jonathan Lehrer (R) being escorted from Courthouse with Robert Snyder

On Friday, December 01, 2023 Johnathan Lehrer of Bois Cotlette, Soufriere was arrested on suspicion of the alleged homicide of Dominique Marchand and Daniel Langlois, which occurred at Gallion.

A search was conducted at the home of Johnathan Lehrer on that same Friday, December 01, 2023.

Lehrer was subsequently charged on two counts of murder and taken before a Roseau Magistrate on Wednesday, December 06, 2023, when the charges were read to him. Lehrer was not required to enter a plea as the matter is an indictable offence and he was remanded at the Dominica State’s Prison. The matter is scheduled for hearing on March 15, 2024.

Investigators applied for an “order to bring up prisoner” which was granted by the court. On Saturday, December 09, 2023, Johnathan Lehrer was removed from the Dominica State Prison on the strength of the order and transported to his property at Bois Cotlette under police escort.

A joint search was conducted on the property by personnel from the Customs and Excise Division and the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force with the help of a canine unit.

At the conclusion of the search, Lehrer was returned to the Dominica State Prison where he remains on remand.

Investigations by the Customs and Excise Division and the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force are ongoing.

I hope the D-pee-pee is following this criminal investigations very closely and advising the police; the lack of competence and efficiency in the Police Force are cause for concern; the learned judge pointed out the poor workings of the Magistrates Court which which would point to the successful conclusion and prosecution of this senseless murder of two innocent souls, who when they cried out for justice from this dysfunctional DLP administration found none.

See what happens in a narrow-minded society that is fueled by disinformation? One dude, a “traumatized neighbour,” saw the cops and the accused at his residence. He had no clue what was happening, but he strategically placed this information in the hands of someone in the media whom he knew would add fuel to it and light it up. It lit up and the news now is tainted with heavy accents of “political interference,” “unfair trial.” bah blah, blah.

People, if you do not know what is happening, this is not a licence to spread rumours and false narratives. This is irresponsible, especially on the part of the media outlets who propagated this false narrative.

I just hope this gruesome homicide case does not drag on for an eternity through this dysfunctional and utterly corrupt justice system in Dominica. This present DPP has left the judges with no other alternative but to dismiss so many airtight cases for want of prosecution. It’s mind-boggling.

In order for the average man to regain some semblance of confidence in the judiciary, cases of this nature should not languish for five, six and seven years, like many others. Delayed justice is injustice.

Daniel and Dominique have contributed so much to Dominica, yet were not protected from these thugs who continually blocked the public access road to their facility, threatened their workers and cut their fiber optic cable. These are disgusting excuses for human beings and should have no place in peace loving Dominica. Why is our PM taking so long to come out and make a public statement condemning this heinous crime and the sick Americans we understand to have perpetrated it? All of Dominica is in mourning for the loss of two amazing individuals who were participants in so many projects that benefited our island and their local community. Bois Cotlette should be confiscated from this man to prevent any further harassment of whoever takes over the running of Coulibrie Ridge, their staff and their guests.

This case reminds me of the Choksi matter, where our politicians, police, customs and corrupt court system played their game because of those players involved.
Oh difference this time is the murder of two Canadian citizens for which two Americans have been charged by the corrupt police of the Roosevelt Skerrit police force. Something is telling me that the same Evil One than was the leading culprit in the Choksi matter is also deeply involved in this case and unless we get foreign law agencies like the FBI and Scot land yards involved , that Evil One will continue to Steal, kill and destroy evidence
