US backs Opposition Leader as Venezuela’s president

Tens of thousands of Venezuelans are taking to the streets in protest against President Nicolás Maduro.

BBC News has reported that Juan Guaidó, who called for the demonstrations, declared himself acting leader in Caracas on Wednesday.

Mr Maduro was sworn in for a second term earlier this month, amid widespread allegations of vote-rigging.

Hello and good evening my people. Well we must talk a step back and analyze what happened in Venezuela . In 2018 there was election but the opposition decided to boycott the election which Maduro won sixty seven percent of the votes therefore he’s the rightful elected president . Now Vice President Pence release a video about Venezuela and twenty four hours later Mr Guaido Stated he’s the president of Venezuela. Mr Trump then stated that Mr Guaido is the president . Now we know that the Russians help Trump win the American election against Hillary Clinton so can Hillary say that since Russia helped Trump then she is the president of America. America have been causing problems in Venezuela buy putting sanctions on the country and on basic food imports and they want to take their oil. I can’t see why Venezuela can’t produce it food to feed it population so it can’t be held hostage by America which cause problems in every part of the world. Look at the Middle East. China need it…

Why would you agree to an election where
      1. The government claims that they don’t have enough money for the special ink that they use to prevent people from voting twice
      2. They have a “NEW” voting system that they demonstrate prior to the election and slip up and show how some random person can vote for anyone else
      3. The government uses an electronic voting system that even the creators of the system say they have no idea exactly what the government is doing internally and they can’t trust the results

The vote was the boycot. The difference in regular voter turnout compared to that election is all the proof you need of where the majority of voters stood. The last legitimate election in Venezuela was the national assembly where they opposition won SUPER MAJORITY. And then the government proceeded to create a “constituent national assembly” to make the legitimate national assembly invalid.

Also Guaido has been talked about for almost 2 weeks now. He didn’t just pop up and claim himself as president. He has taken charge because he has had the support of millions of venezuelans. The only reason it happened on the 23rd is because that day has huge political and cultural significance for Venezuela.

Also the Russians never “helped” Trump win. So far they have found absolutely no evidence for that after 3 years of investigation other than some facebook ads.

Lastly again as I challenged so many people and none can answer name ONE of those sanctions that have been imposed and WHEN they were imposed and on WHO. There are sanctions on corrupt Venezuelan officials for drug trafficking and human rights violations but not on the Venezuelan people

Or Muammar Gadaffi. I remember Vince Henderson defending that man saying do not want to sever diplomatic relations with Libya in an interview in March 2011 wirh BBC Caribbean even when his army were killing his own people with helicopter gunships. Seven months later Gaddafi, Dominica’s friend, was killed when found hiding in a culvert like a dog but we supported him to the end.

Now where is this going to leave Skerrit? I would suggest in a very difficult place. The air around Dominica’s ‘would be’ dictator is getting thinner by the week. The opposition parties in Dominica need to act now and call for ongoing demonstrations and demand a) comprehensive electoral reform and b) the publication of independently audited CBI accounts.

Aye somebody, quick…quick, call Skerrit and tell him to round up all his Ninja Robocop police that was firing tear gas behind unarmed Dominicans the other day and send these ‘love-to-fire-tear-gas’ police to Venezuela fast.

If Skerrit asks why, let him know that one of his FRIENDS ie Maduro is in dire straits. More importantly, remind Skerrit about the ALBA military alliance policy among its member states.

    • January 24, 2019

That was funny, man. You made me laugh out of my pants. Nonetheless, Skerrit has nothing to do with that. If another government forms or is elected, the most Skerrit can do is to recognize the new government and move on. Isn’t that what we all do when a new government is elected to power? So, where does Skerrit come in?

The Government of Dominica please note that all the countries that have recognized Mr. Jaun GUaido as the legitimate leader of Venezuela are also aware of the human rights violation that you guys are committing in Dominica and the time will come when the U.S, canada and Colombia will act to disregard you, Skerrooo!
    1) The Arrest of political opposition
    2) Tear-gas on peace-ful demonstrators
    3) Supression of the free media
    4) Failure to enact electoral laws.
    5) Bloted electors lists.
    6) Ineligible voters on the voters lists.

All international organizations have the list of dictatorial artrocities that is going on in Dominica. They also know that Maduro is your current mentor.

    • January 24, 2019

Skerrit was elected by the ballot box. So, what is your problem? What you want to do is to stage a coup-de-tat but, it won’t happen. Don’t raise MAMO from her grave, because she will take good care of you if she found out.

Look who meddling in elections now. I thought the culprit was russia. And as for you local limited in international intelligence matters Dominicans, it’s time you people start thinking outside the box.
You look up to America in hope that you will be in their favour, but remember we are a small black nation with nothing they want but our vote in the UNITED Nations. Think…if the usa government don’t want people of colour who are born in usa why would they look in favour on you?
Go deep into history and see the reason we blacks struggle so much is simply because we hate our own and welcome/worship strangers.

Dominica the US is also looking at you supporting a dictatorship in making. Your leader is supporting crimes against humanity. The Venezuelan people are starving and you guys are supporting a leader who’s encouraging that behavior. If you don’t watch it you will be soon facing the same.

    • January 23, 2019

The US takes offence when other countries like Russia and China interfere in their elections but they have no problem interfering in other countries elections. If you are so concerned about the starving Venezuelans why don’t you ask the US and its allies to lift the various economic embargoes that they have implemented against Venezuela. America supports ditatorship when it is their best interest, so why can’t any other country do the same? It is apparent that people like you are still toiling on the plantation hoping that one day you will be promoted to house slave.

America is not perfect and its president neither but if I have to chose between the USA and Venezuela I will chose America and our PM does the same. He does not build a house in Venezuela
, keep his money in bolivars, go on vacation there, send his children to be educated there or go there for medical treatment. Of course not,he goes to the USA.

Name ONE of those “embargoes” Anon (I think you mean sanctions). And don’t forget to mention exactly WHO they were placed on and WHEN. Because last I checked there were sanctions on corrupt Venezuelan officials not on the country itself. The only nationwide sanctions are those preventing trading of arms or the selling of bonds to prevent these corrupt vultures from further devaluing the little that they have left. That sanction was only placed in 2017. Venezuela has been in crisis since 2014 and the situation has been dire well before that.

Well what for Linton to do is not contest next elections, and lets see if the US will bother with him. The way Venezuela constitution is set up, they have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in line. The Westminster system doesnt have this. So once elections are called UWP must contest cuz no foreign country can impose an unelected leader on us, we not slaves here. Plus no Caribbean country will allow that. What may happen is pressure from the region for electral reform for the next election, like in Antigua in 1999.
Dont worry about Marduro, he has the support of China and Russia, think he cares?
