US business man charged with importation of firearm and ammunition

William Elton Kennedy, a United States of America businessman, has pleaded not guilty to two firearm-related charges preferred against him by the police.

It is alleged that between January 24 to 28, 2024, Kennedy, of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, imported into Dominica one pistol and 24 rounds of ammunition without being the holder of a valid firearms import  license.

Following his arrest, the accused was granted station bail to appear before the Roseau Magistrate Court on January 29, 2024. There, he elected a summary trial and pleaded not guilty to the two charges read to him.

During the hearing, Police Prosecutor Inspector Francis Laville requested a brief adjournment to consult with the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Sherma Dalrymple, a request to which defense attorney Wayne Norde had no objection.

Regarding bail, the prosecution raised no objection, and presiding Magistrate Michael Laudat granted bail in the amount of $50,000.00 to Kennedy, with Duke Severin serving as surety.

Kennedy will return to Court tomorrow.

The US farmer is the founder of Kennedy Rice.

America is the worst country on planet earth when it comes to guns and gun violence. A terrible country, with no leadership, or corrupt and tainted leadership, whose main focus is wars:
    they started war in Ukraine
    they are provoking the Chinese
    provoking Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq,etc
    Wait to hear the punishment!

Agree. There is a saying precedence is tantamount to law, but neither you nor me will see that. The name of the country we live in is Dominica. Dominicas spoilage started in 2004. Some will get away with anything, others will be jailed for a sweetie!!

Zandoli, different matter, this man imported guns and ammunition as opposed to firearms accessories. He has already started off on the wrong foot by pleading not guilty.

This is how they allowed the American Businessmen who were never accessing our country to use the country as their playground. They forgot rijock reminded them. Too bad Dominica who they sold the country to now.

Americans using the country as their playground .Take that Shitty labor party – can never support this party ever again or people ever the labor party days are done. Too bad when you cannot do business with Erica and you choose to engage in garbage to do business with them. you know it and you cannot do it. Homeless loving scumbags.

By God’s grace I will and want to be involved politically and get this country back on track for us Dominicans

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 7 Thumb down 10
