UWI seismologists concerned about cessation of geothermal activity at Boiling Lake

The Boiling Lake in Dominica continues to exhibit signs of instability, with significant changes in water levels observed in recent days. This phenomenon, which has occurred intermittently since 1876, has raised concerns among seismologists at the Seismic Research Centre of the University of the West Indies about potential blockages in the lake’s underlying vents.

The most recent period of instability was first observed in December 2023. Since then, guides and Forestry officials have reported fluctuating lake levels, with the latest significant drop in water levels occurring on March 29th. On this day, the lake was nearly empty, with little to no water observed.

The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre stated in a Facebook post that these changes in water levels and activity at the Boiling Lake are not necessarily indicative of increased volcanic activity in the area. However, during these episodes, harmful gases such as carbon dioxide can be released, and small steam explosions may occur, according to the UWI-SRC.

The seismologists are particularly concerned about the recent cessation of geothermal activity at the lake, which may suggest blockages in the vents feeding into the lake. They said the clearing of these blockages can occur without warning, adding to the unpredictability of the situation.

The UWI-SRC and the ODM – Office of Disaster Management, the official sources of information on volcanic activity in Dominica, continue to monitor the situation closely and say they are working to understand the implications of these changes and to ensure the safety of the surrounding communities.

In these scary times we are living in lately – Devils Pond or Devils’s Frying Pan, Mourne Diablotain, La Grande Soufrière are landscapes that should not be taken too lightly. There connection to seismic activity is scary hot and bitter, historically speaking. They have all been ‘players’ in magmatic eruptions as a result of earthquakes.

It would be a posture of arrogance or low-tiered knowledge of history and science to casually wave it off as much to do about nothing. They and others are connected to the abyss of Earth.

Take an old page from Guadeloupe and SVG. By paying close attention and being proactive tens of thousands of lives and livestock were saved.
To wave off or negate the concerns of others as – much ado about nothing – tells me or exposes a symptom of arrogance , a low-tiered level in understanding history
    and science and seismology.

🙏May the Eclipse NOT further influence a Season predicted to cause Raging Storms 🙏

    👍 YES 👍 to Dr Rolle’s post.
“Chigonee(ing) “ is absolutely the correct word applicable as a Doominican. Worldwide human scientists, geologists, and others who study natural resources, Outer Space too have crossed the CREATOR’s Red Line.

Volcanic feeder pipes or vents are too complex and far reaching deep into the Earth’s core; to mess with creating man-made openings. The little knowledge I know of them (volcanism) tells me it is suicidal for humans to mess with. SVG did no such wild exploration in 1979 and 2020-21. Which other country has a boiling lake? And, sits dab on the [RING of FIRE]

There have been so many Universal warnings lately that we have crossed into HIS Designs. Inactive Volcanoes waking up, Earthquakes in diverse and familiar places, regular tremors…The arrogance of self-serving, tunnel vision leaders. The consequences can be more catastrophic than clamoring for political, election reform…

Note to Ministry of Tourism. Allu never step out your office or your fancy designer clothes. This is what happens in a volcanically active environment. So how do you feel about your stupid cable car project now?

Those people in power have been bent on chigonee(ing) the boiling lake despite numerous warnings about the dangers.
From what we understand the drilling for the geothermal project went right below the boiling lake. And it is the source of 2 open vents that have remained opened for the last few years -from where the energy will emanate for a plant that is yet to be built.
So by observing the rapid shrinking of the lake over the past few months, the question is where does the liquid from the lake go to when the water levels disappear and re-appear so quickly?
Is this a sign of abnormal volcanic activity?
This is very concerning to those of us living close to the lake. It is not a joke!
We are asking the government of Dominica to ensure that proper regional and international bodies are on hand to monitor this situation.
We do not want to hear empty, verbal political re-assurances.
What we expect is proper scientific monitoring and briefings from qualified…

It will continue to block again and again, unless they start to clear the logs and debris that has built up near the ravine, that also flows into the boiling lake, all they need to do is thoroughly burn the wood and the ashes will dissolve in the boiling lake.

Currently all weird signs of Nature should be taken seriously. VERY! Especially in this leap year with an Eclipse in April.

The atmosphere and landmasses are geomagnetically loaded or lined up with the potential to behave in very abnormal ways. Since the Moon control the tides. Even the waters deep within the Earth. Expect gravitational pulls in diverse places like aquifers, pools, rivers and even the seas. Currents and flows could be vey unpredictable. Like the for example the Roseau river or any other start flowing backwards. The above layer of the ionosphere too is also subject to manipulation. No one should risk taking a dive or go swimming 🏊‍♀️ in the next few weeks!

Abnormal Times Are Here! BE WARNED!!

A TIME TO LOOK -UP AND 🙏 PRAY 🙏

Once my neighborhood growing up. With baited breadth I will follow this possible phenomena especially this April month of this Leap Year.

There is so much cataclysmic events carded for the near future everywhere including some areas in the Caribbean. Like dormant volcanoes getting active; and possible rare earthquakes of great intensity, tsunamis and possibly Hell breaking loose .
