Vehicle of journalist Carlisle Jno Baptiste firebombed

The vehicle of well-known Dominican journalist, Carlisle Jno Baptiste, was firebombed at his home in Pointe Michel early Sunday.

The reason behind the incident is unknown but Jno Baptiste believes it is the result of his work.

“I will not stop doing my work,” he stated. “It is disgusting, it is heart-wrenching. I am disappointed, I feel hurt.”
Jno Baptiste has been part of the media landscape in Dominica for over 25 years.

He has worked or contributed to various media houses including The Chronicle, state-owned DBS Radio, Q95, and Dominica News Online, among others.

He presently owns his own news site Nature Isle News.

Jno Baptiste is thankful that his family was not hurt in the incident.

“It is what it is at the end of the day,” he said. “Thank God, I am alive. Thank God my family is alive.”

He believes the work of journalism is “getting serious” in Dominica.

“It is a serious profession but you know I am one that stands for truth, righteousness, and justice,” he stated. “And I leave everything at the hands of the Lord. The God that I worship, the God that I trust, I lay everything at His hands, and the Blessed Mother. Everything is alright.”

The matter is presently being investigated by the police.

Why does he has to mention that he spoke to the PM? Is he the chief of police?

We are doomed in Dominica. – every one is in a deep slumber.

I made note of that myself. Roosevelt is not an investigative law enforcement officer. He knows nothing about criminal investigations.
Why not the police commissioner or even Blackmoore?

The victim is a journalist. Many of these journalists in Dominica seem to have an incestuous relationship with Roosevelt. No wonder they overlook all his excesses, indiscretions and illicit actions.

By the way, he does not have any empirical evidence as to who fire-bombed his vehicle. Mr. Baptiste is being speculative. Suspicion is not a crime.

The police should be allowed to their investigations. It is wrong to drag the business man’s name through the mud based solely on conjecture.

    Mr John-Baptist, when you say
“And in the hands of the Blessed Mother.”
If you are referring to Mary the Mother of Jesus, I am sure if she was alive here on earth, she would ask,
“Why do catholics pray to me and even worship me. I am not who you claim me to be.”
1 Tim ch 2 v5 states there is one God and one Mediator between God and men,the MAN, Jesus the Christ.
So friends when we have problems we are unable to solve, take it to the Savior, and not Mary. In closing, remember you must first trust Jesus as your Savior.

If Jesus can speak about Abraham, who had died thousands of years earlier, to intercede on behalf of the rich man, in the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Asking father Abraham to allow Lazarus to bring him a few drops of water (Luke 16:19-31). Why can’t Mr. Jno Baptiste not ask for the Blessed (Luke 1:48-50) Virgin Mary for her intercession to help protect his family. He is a God of the living not of the dead. Matthew 22:32. Nobody worships Mary but we Catholics know the value of Her intercession. Who is best able to intercede for us, Abraham who lived thousands of years before Jesus was born or the Blessed Virgin Mary, who gave flesh and blood to the God-Man, Jesus Christ? My advise to you Mr Jno Baptiste never be ashamed of your mother, given to you with His dying breath. “Son behold your mother, Mother behold your so”. John 19:26-27.

When people are into false doctrines and religion they spread confusion.

The Bible teaches: “Luke 1:43, 44,45,46.”
And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come me?

44: For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

45: And blessed is she that believe: for there shall be a performance of those things which are told her from the Lord.

46: And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord.

Now; yes blessed she shall be called for ever; nevertheless; God Jehovah nor Jesus never told anyone to pray to the Blessed Virgin: if you can find any place in the scriptures where God told you to pray to her; let me know.

Now don’t quote “Hale Mary full of grace the Lord is with the blessed among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus” that is a complement Mary got from a visitor whom was present when Jesus moved, or leaped within her!

        It is not a prayer!

      “Mr John-Baptist, when you say”
“And in the hands of the Blessed Mother.”(J.John-Charles).
There isn’t much one can add to that foolish notion, of this Roman Catholicism ideology, and mentality!

There is no place in the Bible where Jesus Christ told anyone to pray to his mother: If its’s one thing we are sure of is that he instructed: asks anything of his father in his name, and his father will give it to the one who pray and asks in Jesus name!
The majority of people in Dominica follow the Roman catholic religion; they are told by their pope (papa) to pray to dead roman catholic saints.

Saint referred to in the Bible are people who are alive; and members of a Church who worship God!
One reason why Dominica is so poor it is because of people like that guy who pray to the mother of Jesus rather the God Jehovah through his Son, and our savior Jesus Christ.
What did Jesus say: For in vain they worship me!

Absolutely disgusting. I hope that the authorities investigate this one thoroughly and bring the perpetrator/perpetrators to justice. We can’t afford to have this go unsolved. Glad to know that he and his family are safe.

Let’s wait to see and hear how the investigation goes. I believe Skerrit, Blackmore and Carbon should all be on air condemning this criminal act, and calling on those with information to report it to the police. If they have said anything, well maybe i missed it!!
How can we allow that in our country??

Apathy, indifference, stoicism, fear, lies and idol worship are a regular part of life in Dominica.

How can Dominicans remain close-mouthed when the ‘leader’ spends countless millions on himself and his family buying expensive vehicles, designer outfits, spends tax dollars to live in a royal castle, while many citizens live under tarpaulin roofs and many use the concrete sidewalks of Roseau as their beds.

Poverty, hunger, joblessness, hopelessness, inequality, breed crimes.

Extreme poverty and unfairness anywhere is a threat to human security everywhere.

Mr. Carlisle Jno Baptiste has his suspicions as to who did the firebombing of his vehicle. This incident should be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrator(s) brought before a judge expeditiously.

Knowing how lax and incompetent the law officers are, this crime may never be solved. These people are not capable investigators, they are mostly trigger happy, brutal militants.

I have made this statement repeatedly because it is so relevant in Dominica. When a leader of a country is conspicuously corrupt the civil service, in fact, the whole of society becomes corrupt.

Of all the jurisdictions in the OECS, Dominica is unrivalled when it comes to CORRUPTION in government and civil society.

“Of all the jurisdictional in the OECS, Dominica is unrivalled when it comes to CORRUPTION in government and civil society.”……. Total nonsense as usual, have you followed the political happenings in the other OECS Islands? Or are you like Judge Andre who claimed that Kititians would have rejected the Byron recommendations, without reading the election laws of St.Kitts, which expressly allows kititians living overseas to register and vote in elections in St. Kitts. As usual you all are just a bunch of losers.

Carlisle my boy, I sympathize with you and sincerely hope the powers that be, in other words the alleged CABAL running the country will not frustrate the investigations. If you really want answers to your plight look no further than the breaking news you delivered from Antigua. This case is very very easy to solve. But alas, there are no seriously sincere investigators left in the force like Matthew Cuffy or ASP. Weeks. The once rising star now promoted to Inspector who had a stroke recently has allowed himself to become tainted. Sad indeed.

Men like Philsbert “Alpe” Alfred, Duke “Muslim” Savarin and the now deceased Antoine Defoe (RIEP) would solve this case with the first 48hrs. I again call on Dcans to get rid of this cabal they have hanging around their necks like an Albatros of evil. Fire burn that cabal!!!

I think GON EMMANUEL was fire bombed in 2010? I am subject to correction. Did anything happen to the culprit or culprits? We heard all kinds of lies, trickery, deceptions and shenanigans by prominent and corrupt politicians plus their acolytes, to avoid a court case. Could it be that this incident involving Carlisle’s vehicle, was carried out by surrogates of those involved in drugs???? Could it be that Dominica has its own “DUDUS COKE” like Jamaica, and this Drug Lord has bought communities, politicians, the police force, mothers, fathers, parl reps, etc, etc, etc???
Interesting times in Dominica, but a country can only be as corrupt as Dominica is, when politicians are corrupt and the police force is compromised. I have said myriad times on this media, if i had my way, i would send home many police offices to bring a semblance of real policing to this country.
I wait with bated breath to hear how the investigation goes!!
