Venezuela vote a critical test for a divided nation

Hugo Chavez is facing his toughest electoral opponent

President Hugo Chavez’s crusade to transform Venezuela into a socialist state, which has bitterly divided the nation, was put to the stiffest electoral test of his nearly 14 years in power on Sunday in a closely fought presidential election.

You are so correct. But do you think that Skerrit has the capacity to create jobs for his people. Do you know that the country is one of the poorest in the Caribbean under this Skerrit party.

every country forms alliances with other countries. nothing is wrong with Dominica being part of ALBA, we are benefiting from it. many students have gotten higher education because of ALBA.

i suppose the killing of his opponents is all media porpaganda. The scarcity of common goods is also media propaganda….and this stupid statement if the west don’t support a certain country it is communist, thats a 1899 mentality. Venezuela is a dictatorial type of system. Now if u intelligent don’t show otherwise online. We all can see and know the policy of venezuela.

intelligent what? right and left quarreling and fighting about which party one another supports ,in the process the opposition side got hurt, that is chavez killining his opponents???? oh please…party supporters in venezuela are very strong supporters be it chavistas or anti-chavistas they would go to the grave for the person they are supporting…there is no way you could go to someone home who don’t support chavez and give your opinion as an individual, before you step out of their door you would be a different person to them trust me.

what irony, that “they voting” so they have choice. i thought u didnt have a choice with dictators. problem is, once you stand up to america (north) you either a dictator or a terrorist. just sit in your comfort seat wherever u are and make up stupid comments..let the media wash your brain. i was like you, until i lived in Venezuela.. dont be a fool

        October 7, 2012

i too have lived in venezuela and dominicans will not change their mindset unless they experience for themselves. in venezuela there is no dictatorship, its a normal country with its struggles. the media has painted venezuela to be a place plagued with poverty where the people have no voice and this is so not true
