Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party, Kent Vital, has said that in order for the economy and justice in Dominica to be restored, citizens need to be united.
Vital was providing the context for his decision to address the UWP “Billion Dollar” meeting which was held in Roseau recently.
“We need to restore our country, but the way we need to do it is through unity and I will not subject myself to hate anyone what so ever…the Freedom Party is an independent party and we will continue to be an independent party fighting for Dominica…we will work with anyone who wants to fight for righteousness, anyone who wants to fight for truth, anyone who wants to fight for the people of Dominica…we will work with them,” Vital told the large gathering of UWP supporters and other concerned Dominicans.
He listed some of his concerns with regard to what is happening in the country.
“We have to restore justice in our land. Our police force must practice impartiality; they must not attack the people; they must not favor a particular political party. Our court system must uphold our justice in our land….we have to restore freedom, we have to push and continue to demand free and fair elections,” Vital told the crowd. “…We have to restore our country’s economy… we have to restore dignity in our country… we have to ensure that our farmers can be independent once again… we have to ensure that we promote our people to be entrepreneurs.”
The DFP leader also pointed to unemployment and high poverty as major issues which he believes have been caused by the leadership of the prime minister.
“All for each and each for all,” he stressed, referring to the final words of the Dominica National Anthem which he read in full. “That is the very embodiment of the name of Dominica, a country that supposed to be for all of us, a country where we are supposed to care not just about ourselves but we are supposed to care about those who help us to be successful.”
Vital lamented what he described as Dominica’s descent into an abyss under the stewardship of Prime Minister Skerrit.
“There is high poverty…there is high unemployment; our youth are not encouraged,,,,Our economy is weak and even in their attempt to develop the economy, they don’t seem to understand that it takes a lot of good strategy and good thinking,” he remarked. “We depend on the sales of passports, what’s going to happen when that’s going to go away? … it will go away because of the corrupt management of the program.”
He said selling passports to crooks, criminals and unsavory characters can hurt other countries and the interest of the Europeans and cause them to withdraw visa-free access for those with Dominican passports.
Vital said this is an important time in Dominica for all citizens to come together and fight for the country’s development as one people.

Skerrit and the DLP have Dominica looking like a s***hole country. Election year they doing everything just to get votes. Then back to the same crap. Our government has collected hundreds of millions of Dollars on behalf of Dominica over the years and what have they done?
They put it in bank accounts and slowly use it to buy people. They are using the money to buy support because without the money, they have nothing else to show. No job creation, no new infrastructure, only handouts and coolouts and free apartments.

You mean the passport economy is strong, the other areas of the economy are none existing! As far as development is concerned, the only developments in DA happening are those that are being financed by passports but belong to private individuals like Nassief, Raphael, Allick, McIntyre etc.

In future may have to ask all political parties that they screen their candidates who wish to serve as Prime Minister that they are matured, sufficiently knowledgeable of socio-economic development, ability to represent our people in Dominica and at the regional and international levels. Mr. Vital made some salient points indeed. Dominica is going nowhere under the stewardship of an inept leader and his sheep-like morons. More and more citizens and residents are falling below the poverty line. Vagrants are now everywhere in the country. There is nothing concretely planned to help these people. There has been nothing transformative from this administration for twenty years. The country needs to be rescued from these diabolical miscreants before it is reduced to ashes. Only unity of purpose by the electors will get this goal accomplished. Let’s do it together.
Vital is of course right. Things in Dominica have to change. We can not continue to allow Skerrit to do with our passports what he wants and make up new rules as he goes along. First and foremost we want to see independently audited CBI account as well as PetroCaribe accounts.

8. misappropriation of state funds, in particular from the CBI program and PetroCaribe
9. boycotting of ventures that would have given employment amongst other advantages to the people of DA (abattoir, coffee factory, geothermal)
Vital truth be told lime you I am a member of the Dominica Freedom Party. However this election is much too important to fractionize. Dominica needs to be saved from the brutal dictator Skerritt. We cannot fight against ourselves and allow Skerrit to continue to ride rough shod on the country. For this reason I call on you to sit out this election. The day after elections we resemble and reenergize the freedom party machine and get ready for the next election. However for this one I am sorry I have to join forces with the UWP to unseat the corrupt labor party. Dominica needs to be rescued. As a United front we surely can and will beat the labor party. United we stand divided we fall. Unfortunately one of the first things Skerrit did was to divide us and keep us divided. So not only is PM taking bread from us and give them to foreigners but he has the country split in two and everyday it getting worse. Vital i have been listening to you intently over the past few months..You seem to be maturing very quickly in the political arena..You exude love for country, and always speak of a just society where everyone can participate, unlike Skerrit who does not care a “darn” about the country he has destroyed!
