Britain had a referendum on whether or not to leave the E.U. and decided to exit. I think we too should have a referendum on Caricom because I do not see us reaping any tangible benefit from being part of that organisation. Do we get any benefits from Caricom like we get from the E.U. or other donor countries? No, but we have to open our doors to their merchants and manufacturers to boost their profits and reduce our choice by protecting their business through a monopoly. Plus, we have to contribute towards the costs of running this organisation., which is no more than a boys’ club. I challenge anyone to tell us what the benefits are of being a member. And don’t just tell me I am negative but answer the question!
