Why do these churches hardly attract anyone these days? Is the church becoming irrelevant?
The modern day churches take too much and give too little. The congregants only take their clothes to the service. Their words and their actions are incongruous. The is the irrefutable truth.
The church should intervene on behalf of the downtrodden in society especially when the wrong is committed by the government. What transpires in Dominica is an aberration. Most of these religious either openly give succor to the corruption government or is complicit by remaining reticent.
The church has failed spectacularly to be the voice for the people. The voice of the suffering people is the voice of God.
You seem to know everything, do not worry about Churches, that institution will always be there, their message in relevant. What you have to worry about is the agenda you are part, seeing that it does not become irrelevant. Have you heard of the liberation theology, using the Scriptures to bring about the plight of the poor and oppressed people. You always seem to attack the Churches in Dominica, saying they are not doing enough working on the behalf of the poor. Why don’t contact Pastor Rodney, start a Church based on the liberation theology, what are you waiting for, probably it is a time for you to modify the agenda you are part off.
@ibo France If you notice it’s strictly laborites who are in this church; as well as most of the churches on the Island. The priests and religious leaders are strong supporters of the labor party. But I’m any case, these folks are religiously religious. Nothing more. Else, they would speak out against the corruption in this country; both in the government and other areas too numerous to mention. Prayers are only good if they are heard. If we fail to speak up against the injustice in our country and government; then what are we praying about; and to whom are we praying? These people have time to waste so they are doing just that.
