At 1100 am (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Three was located near latitude 11.0 north, longitude 40.3 west or about 1258 miles east south east of Dominica.

The depression is moving toward the west near 21 mph (33 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue for the next several days.  On the forecast track, the system should track near or through the central to northern Lesser Antilles within seven days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast, and the depression is forecast to become a hurricane in a few days.

Current models are now indicating that Tropical Depression Three is heading towards central to northern lesser Antilles. Uncertainty in the intensity and size of Tropical Depression Three, still exist making it is impossible to predict with high confidence which islands, if any, will be impacted, and at what stage of development the storm will be.

However, under the current situations, Tropical Depression Three continues to poses threat to the islands.

This assessment is subject to change, and it is likely that a tropical cyclone alert may be required within the next day or two.

Based on the forecast track, the system could be in or near the area by Friday 23rd June 2023. This could bring locally heavy rainfall and strong gusty winds. The specific impact will depend on the intensity, size, track and forward speed of the system.

Please note, that no alerts, watches or warnings are currently in effect for any country within the area, but this is expected to change in the next 48 hours.

Residents should closely monitor Tropical Depression Three and ensure that they have their hurricane season plans finalized and ready for activation to protect life, property and livelihood.

Please stay tuned to the local weather forecast or check our website for updates on the development of this system.
