Lingering moisture and instability following the passage of a tropical wave continues to affect the island. Overnight, an upper-level trough could provide additional instability. Mostly cloudy skies with a few showers are expected today, with a slight chance of an isolated, overnight thunderstorm. Breezy conditions are expected during the next 24 hours.
The public should maintain some caution today in areas prone to landslides and falling rocks, as soils are saturated and may be unstable.
Slight Saharan dust is also expected in the area. People with respiratory sensitivities should be on alert.
Slight to moderate seas, with wave heights up to 3 feet along the western coast and up to 7 feet along the eastern coast, are expected into Friday.
And looking ahead, another tropical wave is forecast to affect the island on Saturday.
