Dominica keeping close eye on Tropical Storm Jose

Projected path of Jose

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has said that Dominica is monitoring Tropical Storm Jose which formed over the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday morning.

He spoke on Wednesday morning, hours after a Tropical Storm Warning, associated with the passage of Hurricane Irma to the north of the island, was discontinued for Dominica.

Jose is the 10th named storm of the 2017 Hurricane Season.

“In respect to Dominica, we are monitoring Jose; Jose is following Irma very closely and so the Office of Disaster Management and the Met Office they are monitoring on a 24-hour basis and will be providing the country with a three-hour interval report on the situation,” he said.

He added, “We are keeping our fingers crossed, we are keeping praying, we are keeping to hope that the rain here won’t impact on us…”

According to current projections by the National Hurricane Center, Jose will travel east of Dominica on the weekend.

Meanwhile, Skerrit stated that although there were a few hiccups, his government is satisfied with the preparatory activities of the state for the effects of Tropical Storm Irma.

He thanked the general public for adhering to the calls of the authorities.

“Once we have the cooperation it is easier for us to execute a plan and I must say the response of the Dominican public was commendable, and this assisting in the execution of the plan,” he stated.

Skerrit said the private sector was very helpful in allowing their workers to go home at 12:00 p.m on Tuesday.

He also thanked the media for sharing the information to the general public.

Skerrit encouraged Dominicans to be vigilant since we are still in the Hurricane Season.

“We have opportunities to take action on anything which we consider to be hazards and let us ensure that we do what we should do in the circumstances,” he noted.

Skerrit is sure riding on the storms and is trying his best to tell us about storms which he knows nothing about, but telling us nothing about what he knows about. Remember Simon Peter who was with Jesus but after his arrest he said I don’t know him? So Skerrit, do you know NG Lap Seng, the convicted briber? Did you know John Ashe? Do you know Francisco Lorenzo? What about Aliereza Monfared-, do you know him? Did you all exchange gifts? Did you take him to your mansion? Do you know Diezani Madueke? Did you all exchange gifts? What about Francisco Corallo? Do you know Him? Did you all exchange gifts? Storm is over and time for you to answer the real questions the world needs answers to.

Where does this come in? It has absolutely nothing to do with this article. Why do some of you keep repeating and harping on this? What do you hope to achieve by it?
It is people as you who cause disasters. Your hearts are hard. They lack love.

One day he will. It will be worst for him than he dishes out. Whatever goes around comes around and two-fold. He has not yet learned that so he could govern himself accordingly.

Only more blowing in the wind useless garbage talk !

How are you monitoring hurricane; when you do not have a single weather system in Dominica which involves radar, and weather satellite, nor any weather aircrafts flying into the eye of the hurricane collecting data?

Roosevelt, that’s what happens when you hear people involved into metrology broadcasting, and talking about monitoring hurricane. There are two weather reporting channel which informs people of the weather around the clock, that’s where “Met offices,” and such as what you have at Melville Hall Airport get their information from.

The way you Roosevelt monitors the weather, it is same every individual in the Caribbean does. Right now I am monitoring the movements of the same storm on both weather channel; 14, and 15. Next thing you will tell your stupid supporters it is because of you why hurricane did not wipe out Dominica.

  6. Irma and Jose
    September 6, 2017

We cool man, Jose will do us no harm just as Irma did us no harm. If Skerro had not paid and offered his sacrifice I would be worried; but the fact that he took off on a private trip and returned a day before the hurricane tells me that he went to pay his debt to his lords, so the island could be speared lol

Keep praying to be spared from Tropical Storm Jose which could turn into a hurricane. All of us Dominicans from afar will also pray with you and for you.
A short poem I learned since from elementary school which I repeat occasionally:

    June to soon
    July stand by
    August look out you must
    September remember
    October all over.

It appears in this times, October may not be over as hurricanes have been known to hit until November.
