Weekend premiere division football results

Pointe Michel making a comeback bid in the premiere division of the Dominica Football Association (DFA), has taken the lead after three rounds of matches in that competition.

They won their opening game against Wacky Rollers and earned full points against newly prompted Kensbro who failed to show up and in their third game and earned a 1-1 against Northern Concrete & Steel Bombers of Portsmouth.

They now lead with 7 points.

Meantime, the misery for Newtown based team Icons continued when they went down 3-1 to Scotia Bank Bath Estate in Grand Bay. Scoring for Bath Estate were Hugo Riley with 2 and Moziah Challenger while Len Walters scored for Icons, who are yet to win a game after two matches.  Riley’s two goals also put him ahead as the top scorer with a total of five after his hat-trick a week ago.

Harlem United also tasted victory for the first time after going down in their opening encounter to Portsmouth. Playing with Wacky Rollers they were able to get a late second half goal to secure a hard fought 2-1 win.

There must be a valid reason why kensbro did not show up. I think the fiasco that went on between balah and the president had a big part to play. Kensbro don’t just miss games like that and especially against his home team. These things have to stop. That is my opinion.
