Residents of the St. Joseph Constituency have joined protest action which has emerged in support of demands for the proper accounting by the government for revenue generated by the Citizenship by the Investment (CBI) for the 2018-2019 national budget.
Bearing placards and shouting slogans, and led by UWP St. Joseph candidate, Monelle Williams, the St. Joseph group gathered close to the Hillsborough bridge on Friday morning.
This action follows similar protests in Roseau led by Ronald Charles of the UWP which have been going on for the past four days and one which was held in Portsmouth on Thursday.
Dominica News Online (DNO) also understands that another protest is also being held today outside the new DLP headquarters in Roseau.
Mr. Skerrit has vandalized the Office of Prime Minister. It has become a place where corruption, greed, selfishness and darkness prevails. It’s an opportune time to write a new chapter, start anew with a caring, inclusive, visionary, people-oriented team. Dominicans have given Skerrit and his spineless comrades ample time to elevate the quality of life of the people. They (Skerrit’s regime) have failed abysmally. It’s now time for a real change. It’s UWP TIME! Time for PROGRESS! Time to raise the quality of life for ALL and not just a miniscule few. The time is ripe to Change the Change of 2 000.

The onus is on Skerrit to come clean and show by opening up the CBI accounts for all to see how the CBI money is being spent. Linton is not responsible for calculating with mathematical precision how the CBI funds are used without being given all the facts. Why is the administration so stubbornly reluctant to come clean? There must be something that they are hiding! This government is synonymous with CORRUPTION. The ‘Where de money gone’ question is creating a Major Headache for the overly corrupt regime. PwC was used as a distraction. This was a lame and futile attempt to put a blanket over the truth. The truth will eventually come to the fore. No transparency inevitably leads to massive and ubiquitous corruption. Bring back the 1.2 billion dollars that belongs to the long suffering people.
