Bella C who’s11 years old, will release her single, called “Beautiful Girls”, on January 15, 2023.
Bella was raised in several Caribbean countries including Dominica where she lived for 3 years. During that time, she grew fond of Banton and the “incredible” musical energy he produces. She was also impressed with Dominica’s Carnival and the World Creole Music Festival.
Although she has not met Bantan, Bella is hopeful that the collaboration will happen.
“Bella C sees Asa in the same light as Protoge and Koffee. As a consequence she hopes her new song will create attention so she can do collabs with these artists and others. She is hoping the public will get behind her to push her journey in music and possibly collabs down the line with her music heroes like Asa. She has not yet met Asa,” according to her PRO, Ray Hampton Cole.
According to Cole, Bella’s single is a blend of innovative Jamaican dancehall and Afrobeat rhythms blended with provocative bold lyrics and R&B flavors.
The song celebrates the unique beauty of all women and asserts the need for women to be given equal footing with men.
“Given her background it is only natural to record her first single “Beautiful girls” as a tribute especially to Jamaican and Caribbean women and girls,” Cole said.
He adds that her lyrical content is positive and empowering to young women and she wants her music to make people “smile, dance and have a good time.”
Bella C also cites as her influences, international and local artists including Brick and Lace, Whitney, Dua Lipa, Rhianna and Lila Ike. While she is from a family that includes a few well known Jamaican music artists she chooses to move in her own direction until she has achieved enough on her own.
The singer currently focuses on her education and has said her music runway will be gradual over the next few years as she grows up and while her fans will not be hit by a barrage of music, she aspires to deliver something unique, Jamaican, and indicative of her positive vision of the future.
“The future for Bella C is unlimited. She is interested in furthering her music career and becoming a symbol of progress for girls across the Caribbean,” says Cole. “She wants to hear her music played in all of the Caribbean from the dance halls to schools for empowering young girls to carnival road marches.”
The track will be released on various social media platforms including the pre-release which can be found at this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nxb1WYBtFbQ
