Newtown Association of Yacht Security and Services announces new executive

Newtown Association of Yacht Security and Services (NAYSS) is pleased to announce the results of the recently held election for several spots on its new executive for the period of 2020-2022. The association’s first election was held in 2017 but encountered the demise of Hurricane Maria which decelerated their activities. The 2020 election held on December 11th and was open to all stakeholders in the Newtown – Loubiere area.  The newly elected members are:

 

Mr. Sherman Julien – President

Mr. Imran Pacquette – Vice President

Ms. Natalia Lugay – Secretary/ Treasurer

Mrs. Sheinel Daway – Assistant Secretary Treasurer

Mr. Delius Douglas – Public relations Officer

Mr. Daniel Perryman and Mr. Hubert Winston- Board members

 

During his thank you speech, President Sherman Julien stressed his intention on the continuation of the works carded for the association and improving the attractiveness of the Newtown- Loubiere area to yachties visiting Dominica. He emphasized the need for the group to work together to bring forth the changes they wish to see in the communities.

 

About NAYSS

 

NAYSS is a coordinating committee designed to provide services to yachters and yachts in Newtown to Loubiere bay with the vision to make the are safe, friendly, and accessible to yachters while promoting blue economy and protecting our oceans. The association expects to provide security, moorings, tours, and yacht services in keeping with the COVID 19 protocols set by the Ministry of Health to ensure that Dominica remains a safe location for visitors as well as the local populace.

 

The Newtown Association of Yacht security and Services wishes to thank the Technical Officer within the Ministry of Tourism and the Parliamentary Representative for their unwavering support. NAYSS also has plans to collaborate with the Portsmouth Association of Yachts Security (PAYS) for the enhancement of the yacht sector in Dominica.
