Madness and Festivals are not usually associated with each other, but this time, entertainers in Dominica have come up with a great idea in the lead-up to the annual World Creole Music Festival.
Miguel Labadie and Danejah Dane have teamed up to organize a two-day event dubbed “MAD Festival” which will take place from October 25 to 26 at the Newton Savannah from 9 p.m.
“MAD Festival came about because we normally have events on the Wednesday and Thursday respectively me and Miguel that is, last year we had an incident where we both hosted events on the same day which was the Thursday, so after that we met and decided unity is better than segregation and having our own festival [has] been both [of]our dreams, so MAD Festival was born.“MAD -Miguel and Dane or Mira and Danejah entertainment which are our respective companies,” Organizer of the event, Dane ‘Danejahdane’ Smalling told Dominica News Online (DNO) during an interview.
According to him, the event is designed to allow visitors and Dominicans alike to travel to Dominica earlier, rather than visiting just for the WCMF weekend.
“We are telling them to come a few days earlier and also the people who are generally here early actually have somewhere to go. They can’t say the place has nothing,” he stated.
Smalling described the event as the most economical event for the season which will be hosted annually.
The headline act for night one is Dancehall artist Skeng out of Jamaica. He will perform alongside TK International, Kenny G, and much more. On night two patrons will be entertained by headline act Skinny Fabulous out of St Vincent and the Grenadines, the return of the Bouyon Giants from the north MFR, Nice, Signal band, and Colton T, among other acts.
Tickets are on sale now at Depex Color Lab, Bullseye Pharmacy, One Pot Bar and Grill and Miniyas 7-11.
Presently tickets cost only 70$ a night and $130 for the season, $300 for VIP, and $500 for the season VIP is all-inclusive.
Nightly tickets will however go up to $100, two weeks before the event. Tickets can also be purchased online on TicketPal.

Hello and good evening my people. Well it’s nice to know there will be entertainment but please tell us how to get there. One can’t even book a flight and if we find one it’s taking two day to travel from New York City to Dominica. I was just in Dominica for a funeral I took Jet Blue to Puerto Rico from JFK. When I get to Puerto Rico Silver Airways cancelled my flight to the following morning. Get there in the morning only to find out the flight is scheduled for three pm. So please tell us how to get to Dominica with spending two days to come and two days to leave.
