Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has announced that the Ocean Oasis Hotel located in Castle Comfort will open its doors to the public before the end of 2025.

He said during a statement that the project is being financed by the Citizenship By Investment (CBI) Program.

“It is expected that the hotel will be opened before the end of 2025…,” he said. “It is a project that is being developed by a local Dominican and these are all part of the government’s policy, empowering local Dominicans in the effort to creating jobs,  in the effort to expanding the economy,  in the effort to ensuring that we can have the kind of accommodation and  investments that we need in the country  to take the country to the next level.”

According to him, there is no doubt that Ocean Oasis,  popularly known as Ocean Edge,  “will do all of these things.”

“ And I think there is  huge excitement  toward its opening,” he said.  “We are seeing a huge number of visitors into our country. We need more rooms.”

He continued, “ I recall some years ago we were criticized by the opposition for building hotel rooms. People felt like we don’t know why we need hotel rooms. But for you to really truly benefit from the tourism industry, you need rooms. Because people have a find a place to sleep. People can open a tent and sleep in an open patch. We need rooms and we need high quality rooms where people can enjoy what Dominica has to offer.”

Skerrit added, “And of course the shared number of people who will be employed at the hotel. The taxi operators will benefit, the fishermen will benefit, more fish will be sold to the hotel,  more ground provisions and vegetables and fruits  produced in Dominica will be sold.  So it is not only the hotel itself but the number of persons who provide direct services to the tourism industry  will benefit.”

And so, this hotel is funded through the CBI, great. However, where is the voice of the developer?

By the way, and I may be dead wrong on this, but as if I read somewhere that the hotel would open in October 2025; now it’s the end of the year?

Comrade Floyd …we need to hear from you sooplay

Why emphasize on an issue that has no merit to its cause!! The PM stated the hotel will be opened before the end of 2025. October 2025 is before December 2025.

That hotel will soon be owned by the rightful owners….the people of the Comm. Of Dca. Post next elections, we the people will be having the last laugh while thieves, rougues and vagabonds will be searching for excuses and hiding places. The god that me, Blue-Blue, Blessings, Mervin, Boots on the Ground and Pastor Randy Rodney serve is NOT a corrupt police chief.

Question, what will be the price of the rooms. Tourists will have to be able to afford to stay at the hotel. If the rooms are moderately priced tourists can stay longer and spend their money in the surrounding community and all over the island.

Amen to that. It’s built to whoever can afford to stay there. Even Dominicans.

    September 7, 2025

That PM has turned Dominica into a den of thieves, that’s very accommodating to international fraudsters, wanted criminals and prolific liars as they all continue to build their very Corruptweatlth in this once paradise of the Caribbean. So when Skerrit opens his mouth to make a lie I treat what he says the same way I treat the lies of Satan
