Police in search of teen reported missing for three weeks

Abiyah James, according to a report made to the police, has been missing for 3 weeks

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is in search of a 15-year old girl from the community of Mahaut, who is considered a runaway.

The police have confirmed to Dominica News Online (DNO) that Abiyah James has been reported missing from her home for over three weeks.

According to the police, James, who is a student of the Goodwill Secondary School (GSS), may not necessarily be in danger, but given the fact that she is a minor, her disappearance is cause for concern.

DNO has also learned, two days ago the mother of the teen made a report to the Mahaut Police Station indicating that while she was at work, her daughter was spotted leaving their home with several of her personal belongings.

Anyone with information that may lead to the whereabouts of the fifteen-year-old is asked to contact the Police.

If she is in need of help why didn’t she just go to the police? Then the matter could be addressed and the necessary resources identified and brought together to resolve the situation. The person or people who are harboring her should be reprimanded. Now there is a scandal and the matter is not resolved. There needs to be public service announcements advising young people who think they are in untenable situations to not run away but to reach out to the authorities for the necessary help.

Dominica is infested with a bunch of child predators . The government, the police force and the people themselves do nothing to rid the country of these aviols . Most bus driver sweet talking them little girls after school and no one has the balls to call them out on it . if Dominicans are fine with having their teenagers date grown men , then let them fly their rapist kite.

The age of ADOLESCENCE is the most turbulent stage of life. This is a time when juveniles need guidance, attention and counseling most. Let’s all hope for her safe return and whatever ongoing problems she has with her family can be permanently resolved.

At least someone knows of her whereabouts. I hope that person gives the relevant authorities this information so this young lady can get back on the straight and narrow road soonest.

Why generalize and pass such unflattering remarks about the young lady when you don’t know her story? Not all wounds are visible. She might be experiencing some sort of emotional trauma. We as a society are too judgmental. Get the facts before passing your aspersions.

Every one o clock they does be out by the roadsides and bus stops waiting for them. Those like good time so is not homework and studies they checking for. Is man they want, worse if they giving them a little money to buy nonsense. its disgusting, and when you tell them “hey, little school girls that there! you not seeing they still in their uniform!” they more vex with you like you trying to take their kill away from them.

When they finish they just leaving those girls pregnant for them to fend for theirself while they go behind the next new set.

If this young lady has been missing for three weeks now and only two days ago she reported her missing clearly this says a lot. Clearly this mother does not care about the well being of her daughter. It is alleged that this young lady reported an incident involving herself and her mother’s boyfriend but the mother did not take her seriously. If the child ran away from her home it clearly means that she is not comfortable being there and is not safe and something is going on. Where is welfare? This should be investigated further!! Too many times we are quick to point fingers when it’s not our own children involved in situations like this. Investigate the home to see what’s going on I say

They did not tell you that she reported it only two days ago. What I am understanding this is a follow-up report to the police. Apparently she knows her mother is at work so she came back for some of her stuff. The article properly explains that she may not necessarily be in danger, this indicates that she was not taken by force and most likely left her home willingly. We are concerned because she is a child.

The mother is a suiteewey. She knows something. So she and her boyfriend should be taken in for questioning. But again, DA don’t have police for the public protection. They are very occupied with protecting one man. All hands should be on deck looking for this young lady. Our government don’t give a …k about us.

If what you are saying about the reported incident is true, then the matter must be further investigated and if any one is found guilty of violating the child, they should be punished to the full extent of the law. Additionally, our judicial system needs to send a strong message to any one who is an accessory and to like minded individuals. Let’s start to do like the jurisdiction in which I live. A boyfriend or significant other is charged for violation a child; the complicit mother is charge as an accessory to the guy on all the charges. We need to get serious in the protection of our children. If laws are there; enforce them and if not; our lazy parliamentarians have work to do.
