The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force is investigating a shooting incident which occurred on Saturday 12 December, 2020 at 5:30 pm at Vener’s Mars Supermarket in Loubiere.
Forty year old Lincoln Degallarie of La Haut Road, Loubiere was allegedly shot in the neck with a hand gun by a known male individual. The victim was transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital for treatment.
The male individual involved in the alleged incident has been arrested. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Sad story. The youth need to learn to control their emotions. Young men have been forgotten while efforts with funding is continued to be pushed for development of women. most classrooms in tertiary education are filled with mostly women. The men who are present ten to usually sit in the back. Many hang out on the sidewalks during the day, many are comfortable with being unemployed and staying at their parent’s homes. You listen to many of them talk, and its the same mindset. Many times its ignorance and aggression. Many are unhappy with their lives, but turn to the wrong influences to seek relief. These days i see its common for our young girls and women to be fighting like animals in the streets also. we have lost our standards. Ghetto and is the new aspiration. Hood rich is the new glorification. Our sprirtual vibration has been severely lowered.
Thank God that he did not die.
I hope that the victim will make a full recovery. It is good to know that a suspect is in custody. Hope the police have the right perpetrator of this attempted murder.
Dominica has been relatively peaceful for months. The Coronavirus is taking its toll on everyone. The country can ill-afford to deal with any more adversities.
Police if you get a confession from the suspect, you also need to extract information as to how he obtained the firearm that was used in the commission of this crime. Surveillance and intelligence must be stepped up to curtail the number of illicit guns and ammunition entering the country.
