Bridgetown, Barbados – Wednesday 16th August 2023 – Under the auspices of the Government of Barbados, the international community for public service leaders, Global Government Forum (GGF), and the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) will bring together GGF’s Caribbean Digital Summit and the CTU ICT Week 2023 – Barbados, from 16th to 20th October 2023. The co-location creates a highly impactful and innovative comprehensive event programme for digital leaders in the region.
Distinguished by the attendance of Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, the Caribbean Digital Summit brings together national and departmental digital chiefs from across the Caribbean for open, informal discussion of the opportunities and challenges around public sector digital transformation. The Caribbean Digital Summit is an annual two-day roundtable meeting for the region’s national government CIOs, Permanent Secretaries involved in digital transformation and departmental digital heads. The meeting helps colleagues share experiences and challenges in order to help achieve effective outcomes and better delivery for citizens.
Under the theme ‘Embracing a Digital Caribbean: Opportunities for Growth and Innovation’, CTU ICT Week 2023 – Barbados is a five-day programme of activities that provide a platform for the exchange of ideas that bring together stakeholders from various sectors in the Caribbean and beyond, including government officials, industry leaders, technology experts, academics, and representatives from regional and international organisations. I want to be positive but many of the ‘departmental digital chiefs’ spoken of here, are like a manikou in your head-lights when it comes to data or even the thought of data warehousing, centralized data, or a data center etc.
