[Press Release] Kalinago Child Support Foundation Inc. launches an extensive campaign to prevent child abuse

Dominica: The Kalinago Child Support Foundation Inc. (KCSF Inc.) is taking a resolute stand against child abuse and embarking on a powerful Child Abuse Prevention Campaign throughout the Eastern District of Dominica. Dedicated to raising awareness and ensuring the safety of children within our Kalinago communities, the Kalinago Child Support Foundation Inc will be executing an aggressive, high-profile initiative during the months of June, July, and September 2023.

The campaign will engage all schools spanning from San Sauveur to Atkinson, involving a series of impactful workshops, seminars, and outreach activities. Additionally, our dedicated team of social workers/Activists and esteemed officials will conduct home/School visits and distribute informative Child Abuse Prevention recourses. Together, we strive to debunk the acceptance of child abuse within our society, ensuring the right of every Kalinago child to feel safe and protected.

Amanda Theodore-Langlais, Founder and Executive Director of the Kalinago Child Support Foundation, passionately expresses her concerns, stating:
“Child abuse is a pervasive issue affecting communities worldwide, encompassing various forms of mistreatment, neglect, and exploitation. Its consequences have long-lasting impacts on the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of children. Our organization is unwavering in its commitment to addressing and combating child abuse, as
well as other forms of abuse prevalent in our communities. Through preventative measures and comprehensive education for parents, caregivers, and community members, we aim to promote healthy parenting practices and foster a secure environment for children.”

Established on August 10, 2010, the Kalinago Child Support Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization headquartered at the Karina Cultural Village in Bataca, Kalinago Territory. With a mission to alleviate some of the economic and social pressures placed upon our Indigenous children and their families, the foundation strives to create awareness, provide essential resources, and offer educational opportunities to Indigenous children and families within the community.

People frown upon child abuse especially $exual abuse in Dominica until it is their brother who interfered with their child. Then they protect the perpetrator and forget about the well being of their own child.
So many women here pretend like they are not aware that their spouse is abusing their child. its amazing what some women are willing to allow just to keep a man in their lives.

All of this initiative and action is only just talk.

Well-loved. Like or Dislike: Thumb up 5 Thumb down 0
