[Press Release] Private Sector Foundation for Health hosts first gala & auction

Roseau, DOMINICA- The Private Sector Foundation for Health (PSFH) hosted its first Gala & Auction on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, at the Fort Young Hotel. We are pleased to report that we were satisfied with the attendance and the energy created by the addition of the live and silent auction. Friends, supporters, and patrons were updated on the progress of the Foundation. A financial report was presented. Over $800,000.00 has been raised to date and over $ 800,000.00 has been disbursed to those needing emergency medical care. We had a silent and live auction, and it was the first time Dominicans had experienced this.

“One would have to say that it was good to see the spark of excitement and even more so, a competition amongst the patrons”.

This unique event aimed to raise funds to support the PSFH’s purpose of assisting in the purchase of medical equipment and supplies for all National Hospitals and Health Centers, as well as providing financial assistance for deserving individuals seeking medical care locally or abroad.

Cecilia St. Hilaire, Coordinator of PSFH says, “The performances by Michele Henderson and the musicians was refreshing and enjoyable. Gala was a huge success. With it being the first time, we are very pleased. The first time is intended to increase awareness, and this objective was achieved. We anticipate that this will become an annual event. We think that all patrons, supporters, and contributors were delighted with the level of service and attention to detail. We wish to thank all our sponsors and supporters. All revenue received during this event will be utilized entirely to give life-saving support within Dominica’s health system.”
