Rianna Patterson, founder of the Dominica Dementia Foundation and CommonAge Ambassador has been invited to present an oral presentation on “Tackling Ageism in the Caribbean”. The Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) Asia Pacific Regional Conference is organized and hosted by ADI members within the Asia-Pacific region.
This year, demensia Brunei is hosting the conference in Brunei Darussalam, International Convention Centre (ICC), from the 27th October – 29th October 2023. The conference aims to provide current, innovative, and diverse content with a global network of individuals from a multitude of backgrounds.
This event also brings together researchers, scientists, clinicians, allied healthcare professionals, people living with dementia, family members, care professionals, and staff and volunteers of Alzheimer associations. This multidisciplinary approach provides a platform for delegates to learn about developments in the field to better understand dementia, not just from healthcare workers and clinicians but also from people with dementia and their carers.
Ms.Patterson is also a current dementia master’s student at the University College London (UCL). She hopes to expand her knowledge of treatments and innovative practices in dementia at this conference, as well as connect with other researchers in
the field.
