Due to the continuing destruction related to the poorly planned and executed airport project, tensions in Wesley are very high. People in the rest of Dominica and the Dominica diaspora seem not to appreciate that a large, once prosperous village is being bulldozed into the ground. It is a huge sacrifice for a questionable result.

But, I don’t think that the murder of last Saturday, relates to the construction of the Airport!
The assailant and victim were supposed to be friends. The assailant is from the village of Marigot, he was inebriated, and got into an argument with his friend; who fell victim to his wrath and anger, which led to the stabbing okay!

Yes, I agree then that it is probably unrelated to the airport issues. Thankyou for the clarification.

@Clear the Air, you are a complete fool to utter such nonsense. It is clear you are against the airport project. Please explain the poor planning you talk about, that I guess is a very hard ask for you…..

  2. When the wicked ruled
    September 29, 2025

Boy all that happening in Dominica these days is our young people dying left, right and center through some kind of death I can’t understand. All we seeing is shooting death in Grand bay, in Possie, stabbing death in Wesley, young men found dead under a bridge in Penville, fatal accident here and there and Dominica is is pain, sorrow and mourning. But in as much as it is sad I am not surprised because proverbs 29:2 tells us that’s what happens when the wicked rules
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Too.much blood is being shed for such a small population of barely over 60 000. Can DNO conduct a poll on this most pertinent issue? We need possible reasons and real solutions.

Obviously, law enforcement is ill-equipped, the members of the incumbent administration emotionally detached about the issue, the churches are indifferent, the country is in total quagmire.

Dominica needs to grow. Growth requires change. However, the source of change needed by Dominicans must come from within. The country should evict this quarter century old regime if they are to have a paradigm shift in governance.

All those words and you’ve really said nothing.

Such a vapid opportunist below your superficial rhetoric.
Change? Typical pot calling the kettle black. take your own advice on change.

As for the DNO poll, Are there too many murders in Dominica? Answer: Yes.

As pointless and vainglorious as you are.

Dominica is too full of selfish pretenders like you, always one waiting in the wings to replace the last pretender in place. For the country to change people need to change their thinking and actions for the better not just complain about it.

Let the donkey bray. Seems like he is obsessed with me. I ‘m not that inclined and would never be. I occupy space in his perverted, dwarfish, microscopic mind rent free. Lastly, I am totally immune to your multiple foolish attempts to tarnish me. I am battle hardened. Try much harder!

            @ IBO
You are a jack@ss, and all that entails. accusing me of your own failing of braying is a tactic straight out of Trump’s play book. Read up gaslighting and narcissists. I’m exercising my free speech to call out your vapid pretentious posts.

There is little to no substance to the things you say. People who use their intelligence can see that, but you are hoping to pray on those who are easily swayed. The devil loves a useful idiot.

In that article you were the only one too blinded by your ego to acknowledge the truth about what I said or be tolerant enough to let it be. Instead, becoming defensive, lashing out at me saying its none of my business. Everyone else acknowledged in their responses the truth of it (even if they didn’t agree). Your self-centered delusion pushed you to respond so defensively to a general comment. That’s sickness and I’ll use my free speech to call you out for it. This time you spewed your pretentious crap on the wrong person.

Here is the original article: https://dominicanewsonline.com/news/homepage/homepage-carousel/16-year-old-charged-with-murder-in-antigua-and-barbuda/

            My comment:
“wow every man jack and woman jack flocking to the political stories even American racism more interesting but a youth finds himself in this situation and no one cares…wow”

yours “….It’s none of your damn business…” (who does that sound like to you?)
among some other defensive crap making it about you.

I see you for what you are a weak tyrant and a bully.

Again this is the problem with this country and the world probably. People like you, the Skerrits, The Trumps wouldn’t be a problem because they would never get into power or stay their. Good can’t happen if your example just as bad only weaker. Your excuse is you don’t have power, well if you did it would be worse under you.

          @ “joakim”

No I’m just calling him out as I see it. I am expressing my free speech as he does. I’m not trying to defend the government both he and Skerrit share the same faults.

I’ve noticed his hypocritical posts plastered all over DNO and wasn’t bothered to respond. Live and let live as they say.

However, I made a general comment not directed at him on another article and his massively egotistical self was offended enough to directly responded to me saying it was none of my business to comment on a public site. On a public site!

Do you know how ridiculous that is? That’s a sign (among many others in his numerous shallow postings) of a hypocritical tyrant. Weak as he may be now, given power and influence he would be no better than Skerrit or any dictator.

Don’t be fooled by his type, he will accuse everyone but himself of the problem. Wake up! There are too many people like him that blame their exact failings on others and refuse to see how they are part of the problem.

lbo, I doubt there are even close to sixty (60,000) thousand people residing in the country!
It’s simply to verify that by counting the number of people who voted in the last elections.
There might be sixty thousand of us living, on planet earth, but the majority reside in other places.
Here is an example: sometime ago I was informed by an immigration source in Antigua, that there were more than twenty-five thousand Dominicans residing in Antigua!
Combined that with the rest on other Caribbean islands, is the reason for our small population, our people leave because there’s nothing to do in Dominica.
Bad economy caused our natives to flee to greener pastures!
Dominica is the only island in the Caribbean, that can’t attract foreigners to seek residence, and native to flee. Where it pertains to the “push and the pull,” we have what push people from the island, however, nothing to attract or pull foreigners in, or native back home.

@Francisco Etienne Agree Dominica has about 60 000 people. Nothing more. Much more than that leave abroad. Ask LIAR Skerrit. He knows that.
People are leaving in droves. Things are hard for most people, and what is really sad the young ones are telling you as soon as they complete high school, you wont see them again.

I am not as eloquent as you are. What you have stated is not only fluently put but CANNOT be truthfully condemned.

Dominicans have to the most recalcitrant and undiscerning set of people on this mundane sphere. To vote to keep a kakistocracy I power for twenty five consecutive defies reason and common sense.

During this quarter century period of having the same corrupt administration in power, life in Dominica has become progressively worse each of the years. But Dominicans do not care to vote against their best interest to keep their oppressors in power by supporting their corrupt electoral and other practices. Roosevelt and his enablers are an existential threat to the life of every citizen and resident living on island.

With all the passport money that is being squandered by this corrupt DLP Administration why isn’t there a proper functioning and functional hospital located in the North East for eventualities like this?
I mean a hospital, not a pretty painted building, like that thing in Goodwill.
You see a country gets what it deserves you know. Once i saw from 2004 politics in Dominica turned into a queen show, WHO IS HANDSOME and WHO IS UGLY, i knew we reached the point of no return. One day all you must wake up from this hibernation….
This country is is in crisis mode and law abiding citizens must be questioning themselves.
Blackmore, Skerrit and the police what are they doing?

Keep on dreaming my bro. That should have been part of the plan for the new airport including a search and rescue boat along with new equipment for the fire service. Training should have already begun but we keep doing things vi-kee-vi in Ma Dominique. Pitiful!
