Dominica News Online (DNO) can confirm that suspects have been brought in for questioning in connection with a shooting incident which left 49-year-old Chinese National, Zing Jian Yong, dead.
Video of the shooting on social media (not shown here due to the graphic nature of the incident) seems to indicate that Yong was killed during a robbery attempt at his store.
The incident occurred at 11:15 pm on February 4th, 2020 at Picard Portsmouth.
Yong was a resident of that community.
According to earlier reports from Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Inspector Simon Edwards, Yong was transported to the Reginald Fitzroy Armour Hospital where he was medically examined and officially pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
The body has been transported to the Lyndhurst Funeral Home, awaiting a post mortem examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
Stubborn Fats says: “I decided to examine the impact of China on Dominica since March 2005 and here is what I found”
Then a host of things that are happening in Dominica since 2005 are listed. But no correlation is given. Not one of these things or listings is linked to any activity, or proposed to be caused by the Chinese presence or activity since 2005. I am not claiming there is nor correlation, there is none listed or offered, no proof at all. People should be more responsible in their claims and in their writings.
STURBAN,you are a danger to yourself and bringing a country into disrepute, you need to be taken in for questioning. A man was shot dead helping the community.
In your comment, you could have supply the weapon, When a person in position fails they want to take others with them and they got you. Hatred, spiteful jealousy and cowardice nail Jesus to the Cross. Get your facts right. Finally, if you had to make a contribution to news online, you would choose your words better. An innocent human being was shot dead for helping to develop an Island. GOT IT.
We all know what’s wrong in the society, but some are scared to speak out until such acts are upon us.The argument that some people don’t want to work is a shallow one.A gov’t in power for 19 who has rob most of the young people of there future should take blame for today’s problem, they tear down institutions,no technical training,no industries,no job creation,so they sit on the corners watching life pass them by so crime and all kind of misdeeds is what they end up doing.Their teacher taught them no law no constitution can stop him, passport thief and all kind of crime against the state, foreign invasion every body except the youth of Dominica benefiting all that planted the seeds of a lawless society this is just the product of what was planted.until the solution start at the top level that crime situation will continue we all need to be honest and look within. Young people learn from example,so if we going to blame them go to the root of the problem everything is cause and effect.
And you want to put another medical school there, denying Grandbay the opportunity in an area with a police station above the village nestled in the hills, claiming it’s violent there. But you put it in Jimmit you’all padner’s area where headless body and other violence has happened nearby. Well sad for the fella, but…. chicken came to roost in Possie…. again.
Bring back the death penalty. That will let ppl think twice about their actions. And for the love of everything good, put cctv cameras 🎥 around the island. Start with the cities first. It’s not that expensive to set up. It’ll aid in catching criminals.
What a shame. The suspect or suspects stay by the side roads, loitering with intent, no body chase them away and here is the results. Prevention is better than cure. Am of the opinion that this man did not act alone. Find his accomplice or gangs related. Has his parents got more like him. He must be put through a lie test
You all doh want to work and on top of that is ppl you want to KILL. Young men the the market need castor oil, coconut oil and caco sticks. I know its hard work but please stop that nonesense, do not rub and kill people. Last week I made 4 litres of castor oil, this week 40 caco sticks and next week is coconut oil.
I hope that that evil-minded individual will be caught and incarcerated for the rest of his days in the body.
Thank God! I hope they are charged and convicted because no one should take another person’s life. But since the deceased was a Chinese I am pretty confident that the authorities will do all in their power to ensure they are dealt with by swiftly, even if all three sing from the same Red hymnal. Since the murder of Zing Jian Yong, especially after reading the article of Dr. Darroux, I decided to examine the impact of China on Dominica since March 2005 and here is what I found:
1 .Fall of the church
2. Increase in crime
3. Laziness
4.depature of Ross University
5. Death of the banana industry
6. Elections being rigged
7. Our government officials referred to as Hungry Hyenas by Al Jazeera
7. Increase of corruption
8. Death of sports and social gathering
9. Dominica got poorer though politicians got richer
With all of the above it is fair to conclude that Dominica was a far better country before the China / Skerrit relationship of 2004. If any can prove me wrong please…
