On Tuesday 27th July, the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association will host its 52nd Annual General meeting under the theme “Meeting The Membership Expectations”.
“As usual we are thankful and humbled that we have been able to come to another financial year as the private sector representatives for the Tourism Industry. As we all know the challenges of the Covid virus continue and will continue to affect the industry for the foreseeable future.” reported First Vice President of the association Mrs. Avril Coipel.
“This reality has allowed us to gain a unique perspective on our advocacy, membership development, and communication. The industry has expectations for how the private / public sector relationship should continue, how they are represented, and how to derive long term benefits from association. These are key factors coming from our industry, and as an association we have to listen carefully.”
Acting CEO and Director General of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association CHTA, Mrs. Vanessa Ledesma-Berrios will be presenting the keynote address at the associations open session from 5:15 pm. She will address us via zoom from the CHTA headquarters in Florida.
Her presentation will touch on the need to meet members’ expectations and how to create lasting value for Tourism Service Providers through association and network development; both of which are hallmarks of all National Hotel Associations across the region.
The president of the DHTA, Hans Schilders will reflect on the challenging past year and the plans for the promising year(s) ahead. The Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association wants to continue to cultivate its vision for growth and development of the business opportunities of its members and all other stakeholders in the tourism industry. Now, more than ever, our private sector collaboration is needed to achieve More Business, Better Business, and Sustainable Business. We look forward to getting confirmation of the members’ mandate for President and Board for the upcoming DHTA year 2021-2022.
The Annual general meeting of the Dominica Hotel and Tourism association is carded for Tuesday 27th, July 2021 “in person” at Fort Young Hotel and via Zoom (please confirm early for the live session; limited seats due to Covid restrictions).
Registration for the members only closed session will begin at 3:30 pm and the open session begins at 5:15 pm.
