The National Youth Council donates family care packages

The National Youth Council continues to be an umbrella organization for the youth of Dominica and a pillar of support to other NGO’s, CSO’s, regional and international organizations around the world.

One of the main goals of the NYC is to continue providing neutral and unbiased support to the populations we serve and the organization felt that it was necessary to look out for Dominica’s youth and elderly in this time as a result of major economic challenges due to the covid19 pandemic.

On the 19th April, 2020 the NYCD Executive/Secretariat donated food packages to 20 persons across the island.

This outreach helped to reemphasize to the young persons as well as the elderly of Dominica, that the NYCD is thinking of them during this difficult time and will continue working with them to work through all challenges as much as possible.  Items provided were deemed necessary and essential as Dominica and the world faces the ravages of Covid19.

Overall the outreach was deemed a successful one by the organization, participants and partners and we look forward to continuing our work in assisting and positively advocating on behalf of the youth of Dominica.

Agree 110% with your views here. Let the staff pose with a picture with their donations if they so care, but leave the recipients out of the pictures, please!

The government of Dominica can afford to spend $32,000 a month on rent for Skerrits new luxury residence and thecountry of DA can afford to let Skerrit get away with non-accounting for millions and millions of Dollar. However, the poorest of the poor have to be taken care of by voluntary organisations in particular if they are supporters of the Opposition. Furthermore, this old lady surely must have qualified for one of the passport houses. Again, I guess they are only available to DLP supporters and friends of the government ministers.
P.S.: I wonder if DNO is going to publish this comment of mine. My last 3 were all brushed under the carpet. I guess too much criticism of the dictator is not permitted even though I speak the truth! The last bastion of our freedom is about to fall as well. Very soon I guess!! All you Mark my words…

We will keep doing what we are doing yet the attitude of the people will ultimately make or break any positive force for change.

Your efforts of coming to the aid of needy residents are commendable. But, you all have to stop plastering the recipients’ photos all over the globe without their consent. If you genuinely give from your heart, you don’t care to take photos of persons in need for cheap publicity. Stop it❗

I also find their efforts commendable but share the your thoughts in terms of the photographs.

A similar unnecessary charity publicity stunt is when businesses parade an oversize cheque showing the amount they gave.
