Tourism minister announces launch of new information App

Denise Charles -Pemberton delivering featured address

Tourism Minister Denise Charles-Pemberton has announced that a new App will be launched soon, making it easier for visitors to receive information. She made the announcement while presenting the feature address at the official opening of Mas Domnik Carnival 2024 held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on the weekend.

“The good news is that with technology we will be launching a new App soon which will make it easier for visitors to receive information,” she said. So, I encourage every Dominican offering a product or service to visitors to please register with the Discover Dominica Authority.”

She continued, “It is critical that we do so to ensure that we set standards that we must keep.”

Charles-Pemberton added, “We have to ensure that every visitor to our Carnival can give raving reviews and every aspect on their trip from arrival to departure is wonderful.”

As patrons revel in the Carnival’s joy, she warns them that they should not overlook their responsibilities as individuals and as a society.

“From our majestic sperm whales to the lush rain forests and other treasures, it is our duty to protect these assets for the benefit of future generations,” Charles-Pemberton stated. “So please, practice proper disposal of garbage and reuse, reduce, and recycle as much as possible.”

Furthermore, she said the Dominica Labour Party Government is establishing a sustainable future for Dominicans by embracing renewable energy and advocating for ecofriendly practices. Meanwhile, Charles-Pemberton revealed that one of the biggest decisions made this year is that from this Carnival and beyond her ministry will honour and pay homage to a person or a group who has made an enduring impact on Dominica’s cultural scene.

“Our children need to know more about our national icons and groups, so that they can be inspired to continue to touch,” she noted. “Today tribute was paid to the late cultural icon Dr. Alwin Bully.”

    @Admin:

It would be fitting to investigate why American Airlines 3494 departure from Dominica to Miami on Monday January 8 was delayed for over an hour with passengers on board. The airline then decided to make an unscheduled trip to San Juan just to empty the toilets because the service was not available in Dominica at that time. Multiple passengers were inconvenienced with missed connections as the flight landed in Miami four and a half hours beyond its scheduled time.

Visitors and Dominicans need to be informed.

Can you change Ugly Lenny’s ugly head? Can you change Jesma Paul’s wig on her head? Not even a doctor can change the claustrophobia you feel, your bum.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 0 Thumb down 13

I see you all love to complicate things, I hope that app is also connected to the customs declaration webpage so when visitors are coming into the country they can simply click the link in the app to declare, what you all have now is a simple webpage, that if you didn’t know before hand you would have to fill out the paper when you enter Dominica…

The Ministry of Tourism has much to answer for!
Tourists disappearing on the Waitukubuli Trail.
Tourists leaving the northeast because of noise, danger, and road destruction of the roads by hundreds of giant dumpers each day.
This ridiculous joke of a cable car to Boiling Lake idea.
A lack of empathy concerning the murders of the owners of Coulibri Ridge.
And here they are, diverting our critical gaze with a useless gimmick!

This is precisely what most people despised about this mal-administration. Everything these liars talk about is accompanied by these words -‘will soon be’. Geothermal energy, international airport, replacement for RUSM, revitalization of Roseau, modern seaport facilities, Windsor Stadium lighting, prolific agriculture production, and the list of pledges can be extended into perpetuity. Now this App.

This is a ‘soon to come’ government.

your responsibility as well you ignored all along. no wonder the word of all the nonsense that you were doing and people were defending you until people begin seeing the garbage you are engaging in.

Unfortunately, there is not much being done as tourism and other sectors are not aligned. A few years ago remember the renderings you all had all over the place.and today nothing.Stat new not continue. start new not continue everytime is restart and restart and restart going nowhere.

tourism on roseau is limited. no one walks in roseau anymore made people waste their time investing in tourism on roseau.
for some reason when tourism is attracting hotels from these guys that are not doing well in all inclusive sunshine resorts take stock. There hotels are looking like prostitution joints.
Developing your own and branding yourself marketing country this is what you all are not doing. Businesses that are at a. roadblock in growth or expansion how you expect to attract
