Drivers heading through Antrim yesterday morning faced a bit of a holdup when a trailer truck, believed to be carrying materials for the airport project, stalled while trying to climb the incline on the narrow roadway.
A yellow truck attempted to tow the trailer uphill, but the chain snapped, leaving the vehicle stuck and traffic backed up on both sides. With cars piling up and the tight space making it difficult to maneuver, confusion set in for a while.
As is often the case in Dominica, community spirit quickly came to the rescue. Residents stepped in to help direct vehicles, rerouting traffic from Springfield through Cochran to ease the congestion. Thanks to their efforts, the jam was cleared without incident.
After some teamwork, traffic was flowing smoothly again. No injuries were reported.
