Two Jamaican detainees escape officials in Antigua & Barbuda

The two escapees

Yesterday, a daring escape occurred at the Immigration Department’s detention facility in Antigua and Barbuda. Two Jamaican women managed to flee the premises, leaving the authorities in a state of shock and disbelief. Sources in St Johns revealed that one of the detainees was a student, while the other was a hairdresser.

It is believed that the duo broke the glass of a bathroom window and made their escape while the four officers on duty were allegedly distracted by a TV program. Despite the officers’ search efforts, the escapees were nowhere to be found by Sunday night. The authorities are now on high alert and have launched a massive manhunt to track down the two women.

According to reports, the two escapees were being sponsored by a Trinidad and Tobago national with an Antigua and Barbuda passport. The authorities are now investigating this lead and are leaving no stone unturned in their search.

As of Sunday night, there was no update on the whereabouts of the two women, and the authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help apprehend them.

  1. No fencing prison

One of the best recent movies was the “Jail Break” by two brothers. A prison shouldn’t have any wire fencing. Any time there’s such fencing it’s an indication that the prison is not secure. Let me design a prison for you where there’s no fencing. And no prisoner would dare escape.

The two detainees escaped because the officers were purportedly distracted by a TV program. Isn’t this comical!

Likewise, prisoners in Dominica are escaping frequently through a hole in the fence at the Stock Farm prison. This should not come as any surprise as both jurisdictions are headed by cartoonish characters. Society, specifically the pubic service, takes on the character of its leader.

For the good of the society, let’s hope these two fugitives are apprehended and extradited to their homeland.

Still overcome with laughter for the reason which was given that allowed these two agile female offenders to escape custody.
