The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) has revealed the final artists’ lineup for this year’s WCMF.
The artists are as follows Brooklyn/Haiti artist DJ Stackz, Dominican Signal Band, St. Lucian artist Ezra D’ Fun Machine & Jiggy, and Jamaican Artist Jada Kingdom.
For the nightly lineup the artists are as follows: On Friday night, the performers are Popcaan, Michelle Henderson, DJ Stackz, Vayb, Triple K International, Patrice Roberts, and the A team
On Saturday there will be Beres Hammond, Gordon, Asa Banton, Joe Boy, Ezra D’ Fun Machine, Jiggy, Tabou Combo, and more, and on Sunday night Machel Montano, Jada Kingdom, Signal band, Midnight Groovers, and Extasy Band, among others, will hit the stage.
My issue is not really with the Line up but more with the arrangement of the artists on the respective nights. Poorly executed. Its like They didnt care to think about the genres and moods they want to create. Why not put Popcaan on the same night as Beres, especially as they have a popular song together? then again im not surprised. We just trying to hold on here in Dominica with the square pegs that remain.

Small island artists have been receiving a push by the DJ’s and the larger soca community for the past few years. All Dominica has to show is a bunch of over-hyped, over-sexualized songs that isnt shedding a good light on Bouyon music
