The novel Coronavirus has been declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization, as the outbreak continues to spread outside China according to a BBC news report.
Officials are concerned that it could spread to countries with vulnerable health systems.
“The main reason is not what is happening in China but what is happening in other countries,” said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, making the announcement at a press conference in Geneva.
Additionally, today was the first confirmed case of person-to-person case transmission of coronavirus in the US after a man in was infected from his wife, who had previously traveled to China.
why are we not placing on public record the amount of diseases that were once irradicated in dominica and we now trying to fight those same disease because corrupt politicians brought in all those hatians to infect our health and our election process. those who were jumping and dancing in ignorance with be affected the most…
Our Chinese friends tend to have a very varied diet, made up unimaginable constituents and which are foreign to Caribbean style cuisine. But they through neocolonisation are doing the exact same thing that massa did to us negroes. They have just used a different tool.

Today we see our Chinese friends come in with their flip flops (push ins), recolonise us with money, they give us satdium, hospital, bridges, roads but while we enjoying their gifts, they also sneakyly introduce foreign food like bat and dog soup, grilled snake etc, leaving behind untold suffering from SARS and Coronavirus devastation.
When will we learn, all money is not good money: We must be careful with the hands that feed us.

I am not at all surprised because we all knew it was coming. The only sad thing is so many of our young children, our young brains are stock in China. Does anyone care? Are we taking notes?
When I think of the number of our young babies that dying now, especially since that Dominica China friendship hospital was opened and our local doctors are banned from the hospital and American doctors are not wanted, while Chinese doctors and medical ships seem to be more visible, I wonder if that is not part of the China take over Dominica plot? Do we have Dominica China hospital? soon we might see a Dominica China National Funeral home followed by a Dominica China burial ground.
I don’t trust that Skerrit just as I don’t trust China. Whenever I think China and Skerrit friendship, I must think of the Douglas / Charles Airport and the Douglas Charles funerals.
You see what I have been talking about. It’s now a global emergency and our sons and daughters are locked down in China because our governments don’t care attitude, as long as they can send them money. Man if one of our students falls sick or dies in China because of this virus, we should hold the government responsible because when they could have and should have moved them out of China they failed to act. Right now all doors are closed in China as airlines stop flying to and from China and nobody wants to have anything to do with what’s coming from China. We are now in the midnight hours and people cannot do anything to help their relatives in China. The city is o. Lock down, buses and all form of transportation is ordered to park and only God knows what our students going through in China while hundreds of Chinese nationals are safe in Dominica. I just think what our students are going through in China is part of what most of our babies going through in the Da/ China hospital
we in Dominica need to stop all containers coming from China from landing on our port until it is safe or the virus is under control. we do not know whether someone with the virus has a parked the cardboard boxes that are in the container. let us show some action if we are serious. let us take a page from the Italians book.
And I will continue to rant. Because what I have been saying is actually happening. Ppl cancel carnival and possibly creole festival for a year. Or at least until the all clear is given. You heard what they said? They’re worried particularly for fragile health care systems. They’re referring to us. Who can’t properly stand on our own two feet. If an infected person travels to dca during carnival and jumps up on Monday, dances buys drinks eats chicken, at the end of the day at least 2000 people would be infected. Let’s say 1000 of these 2000 people come back on Tuesday to continue jumping, by Ash Wednesday about 10000 people will be infected. These infected go to church and get their ash, and infects the priest, he gets infected. He preaches a sermon on Sunday and the congregation gets infected. They go to work on a loaded bus and infects them. This will destroy us, our economy and our culture. Please cancel carnival this year and save dcan lives.

We are so underprepared that instead of talking quarantine and face mask, we are talking about inoculating our small island state, Dominica, with the virus by bringing our students home. I said earlier that I’m not sure if the ministry knows what it is talking about and in less than 24 hours the WHO is expressing their fear.

Admin, are you now back peddling? You see you can not be gunho on mortality in a potential viral pandemic. Several factors influence mortality rates, You See WHO now talking about vulnerable health care systems; in otherwords, poor third world countries, where people big up themselves and beat up their chest claiming that they have things under control and yet not even addressing basic steps of containment of the disease.
Folly like we know where they are coming from because of technology, surely does not help. Added to this we may easily take 14 days to obtain the confirmation of the presence of the disease.
This is spreading like ‘wild fire’ cases in Jamaica and now in England. Two members of the same family who travelled on a plane from China!! Every region in China now has the disease.
This disease is virtually identical to the SARS outbreak of 2002/3, same type of virus, believed to originate in bats which may have infected an animal which has passed on the disease…
