
The Girl Guides Association of Dominica made history on Sunday night when Gabrielle Esprit who represented the association secured the Miss Teen Dominica crown, a first for the organization.
Esprit copped the awards for Best in Spectacular Wear, Best Spectacular Wear, Best Performing Talent, Best Evening Wear, Best in Evening Wear, and Best Response to Question.
She outperformed three other contestants to secure the title in the competition held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium Forecourt.
The 1st runner-up position went to Keanna Aaron of the Isaiah Thomas Secondary echool. She grabbed the award for Best Promotion Speech.
Hannah Joseph, student of the Dominica Grammar School, placed 2nd runner-up. She won the Miss Amity Award, while the 3rd runner-up spot was secured by Kerine Royer representing the St. Martin Secondary School. She won the award for Miss Photogenic.
The Miss Teen Dominica Pageant is organized by the Waitukubuli Dance Theatre Company. Its main objectives are to develop the visual and performing arts of school children in Dominica, to showcase their talent, and to promote the country’s art and culture, while enhancing the Carnival Celebrations.

Last year’s winner was Sherkhia Andrew of the Dominica Grammar School.
