Favourite quotation: There’s more to the truth than just the facts.

Philosophy: I believe that there is more to life than what we already know. It’s time that human beings stop behaving like social animals and start using the full potential of their minds. Take full advantage of the resources that God provided for us and put it to good use for the betterment of our world. Let’s help each other get to the top, rather than pulling each other back to the half-way point. There are a lot of young individuals with powerful minds and talents. It is time that we help them find their way and ensure that they are prosperous and successful. The only way to build a safe and productive Dominica is to start from the small areas that seems unimportant to our development. Let’s reach into the ghettos, the gullies and the slums to help our brothers and sisters in need. Diamonds as precious as they are don’t rain from the heavens, but come from the very same dirt that we trample upon. Be responsible, act responsible and encourage responsibility. It’s the simple things that make life important to us.

About me: I am very friendly, someone you can truly depend on. I’ m intelligent, classy and a very hard worker. Most of my time is spent behind the computer at home or at work. I enjoy playing video games and basketball. There is also a poetic side of me; I take a lot of pleasure in writing rhymes, lyrics and daily quotes. I also have a taste for music producing and engineering with my good friend Ja Foxx. Programming, networking and web designing are my forte.

I kind of enjoy cooking as well, tried many dishes before, but my best dishes are the local dishes and our favourite one pot. I love making friends and meeting new people, though I can be a bit shy at times. I like cracking jokes and just seeing smiles on people’s faces. It’s also a joy to see women who take good care of themselves, especially in Dominica (we got so many beautiful and responsible women down here) proud to be called Dominican.

Future goal: I plan on furthering my studies in the field of Management Information Systems; also establishing my small home based business Access point Ent. on a local and regional scale, offering professional services in telecommunications and computer technology. I think that one should develop them self to the best of their ability. I would also want to gain the opportunity to teach young individuals different ways to make use of their skill, and to give back to the communities of our country in any way possible. I really want to do my best for Dominica and the world by extension, so that when I move on I’m sure that my name will leave a positive mark on society.

@Out of the South: First allow me to correct the assertion you made that I’m a Christian. I am an atheist to the bone through and through, always has, and will remain so until the day my bones are returned to mother earth and recycled. I do not believe in Gods, Jesus, Lord, Spirit, and all the other Mumbo Jumbo entities gullible people of your ilk believe in.

You should have read between the lines of my reply before jumping to conclusions. What I was highlighting were the flaws and inconsistencies in the Lawnman’s CV and his religious views, and may I also add the infantile arguments of your reply.

Now to return to your man, his religious views and I quote: ” Catholic by faith, I believe that there is a god, he sent his only son Jesus to save us from eternal salvation and every thing he does is carried through the work of the holy spirit.”
After reading that piece I almost choked on my bread and cocoa tea. What didn’t add up in the lawnman CV is his choice of Role Models, musical artist, and his favorite books and films.

The Role Models:They were all Christian by faith preaching or singing to the faithful to follow the moral codes of their faith, and yet the morality of their own behavior were the complete opposite of the codes their faith demands. To me its hypocrisy with a capital H. The same goes for the choice of his musical artist, the films, and books the Lawnman regards as his favovite, the theme running through each one is adultery..Guns, murder, drugs, mayhem you name it, all the evils that man is capable of inflicting on each other.
At this very moment Muslims and Christians are slaughtering each other in Nigeria, and all in the name of their god. Muslim suicide bombers are taking innocent lives at this very moment in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, and all this in the name of a none existent entity. The Pope and his Bishops are embroiled in a sex scandal of child abuse and paedophilia, and so it goes on and on. The faith based HYPOCRISY that pervades society today is all rotten to the core.

Now to get back to the inconsistencies and flaws in your reply. First you mentioned Adam and eve
were not married in a church. I’m sorry but I fell about laughing at that one. that first paragraph convinced me that your Gullibility has allowed you to swallow the religious mumbo Jumbo the Europeans Forced down your throat. Christianity has certainly blinded your eyes to reality.

I’m a sane and rational human being of black African heritage, I care not for this Abraham and old Testament shit, thats for the Jewish Race, its their history religion and fictional story not mine.

Children are no gods creation thats a load of hogwash. It is a natural process of nature for all life on earth, offsprings are conceived as a result of the union between the male and female of all the species of life on planet earth, its natures way on earth and throughout the universe. Look around you, the process is happening beneath your feet where you are right now, in the sky above, and the oceans.Sit down and take a good hard look at the magical wonders of nature in action, and your whole perspective on life and where you came from will become much clearer and propel you back into the realms of truth and reality…

PS: I will leave you and also, AYEOLA / the LIME a little conundrum, seeing that you both believe this silly fictional Jewish&Christian story of Adam and Eve. As man and wife their only offspring were two sons. as they grew up to manhood one of the sibling was murdered by his brother, so therefore only three persons were left on the earth. (Mother and father and one Son.) Mother EVE did not have any more children right, so enlighten me if you may, when all three of them died out, where did the complex and diverse mass of humanity came from??

woah woah woah BIG THINGS POPPING! lol congrats shirlon. bright, ambitious guy like yourself….you will make it in life. and dont worry with the critics, instead of bringing u down, they only point out your flaws which can only make u stronger. keep on the path you are already on and God bless now and forever.

  12. March 13, 2010

@Youthermist you forget Jesus befriended Mary Magdeline who was a prostitute????? Look for the good in every one ….even Biggie and 2Pac cause it was there…..people like you just discourge others who are actually trying to make a positive contribution….

Do you even know the power of your words???

Shirlon just keep doing your thing…sound like you know what you want in life…Go Get It!!!!

    March 13, 2010

    Youthermist,

What do you mean by serial adulterer? Adam and Eve were not married in any church. This is Western Civlization tradition. The old Testament declares that men took, and knew their wives. Do you realize that Abraham had more than one woman? This is an African thing for a man to have more than one woman. That is African tradition. Christianity has defined everything for us after we were taken away from Africa. So what do you think about the people who divorce, and remarry and even those who profess to be Christians and still cheat?

While you are trying to condemn the young brother you must also realize how Christianity has blinded our eyes to the truth. Who were the ones to institute death and destruction upon innocent lives, dividing and conquering and are still waging war on innocent lives through mass destruction? Be not deceived.

Regardless of Bob Marley spoking pott he was a messenger singing to us about who we are as a people and was a brilliant man inspired to write lyrics like no other Reggae singer. Children are not illegitimate. They are God’s creation and not accidents either. We have allowed the Europeans to coin and define every term that we have and therefore we have become so gullible that it is pitiful.

    @ Youthermist

stop tryin to mess the young man positive progress. it’s people like you that cause young guys like us to stay on the fast track and not give crack about life. because even in the little good that we do you still see us as bad people. what you are not seeing is that in every good or bad person we have flip sides. one can never be 100% good or 100% bad, thats just human nature. because we listen to a particular artist or watch a certain movie dont mean we are gonna practice it or bring it to life. its just the fact that we like to see it or we like to hear it. dont try to bring the guy down an chill out fada. i kno him personally an he really is what this profile say he is. keep it up my brother, really wanna see you make it. i kno if you do, you wont forget about us on the street in the strugle.

HAVE NEVER HEARD SUCH POSITIVITY FROM THE MALE SIDE BEFORE……ITS SO ATTRACTIVE……KEEP IT UP AND U MAY NOT BE SINGLE FOR TOO LONG…..IF YOUR NOT SINGLE BY CHOICE THAT IS…..MEOW ! ….JUST A LITTLE SOMETHING FROM ME TO U….LOL

  16. Youthermist
    March 12, 2010

The Lawnman: You are obviously an intelligent young man, with an impressive CV,but while dissecting your profile,I could not help but notice several contradictory flaws within it that just doesn’t add up.

    (1) Role models: Martin Luther King he was indeed a charismatic civil rights leader, but he was also a serial adulterer. Bob Marley: A serial Adulterer, with several illegitimate children, and a prolific Pot smoker.
Barack Obama: The jury is still out.

    (2) Favorite artists: Tupac & Notorious B.I.G NY Gangsta rappers, from violent ghetto background.

(3)Favorite Books: Would not recommend any on the list as required reading, they are all loaded with racial prejudice, violence, murders, and all the known foibles of human nature.

    (4) Favorite Movie: TEMINATOR 2 , sickening Murdererous violence throughout, and as far as i’m concerned not fit for visual consumption.

    (5) Your Philosophy: Now this is where I take issue with your inconsistences. Humans as a species evolve to be social animals, that is precisly why we are the dominant species on the planet today. We have also utilised our brains (or mind for that matter) to such an extent that we manage to send men to the moon.
Technically we are at the pinnacle of our achievements. We are also taking full advantage of earths resources to the benefit of all, Dominica is benefiting right now and will benefit much more in the future.
Yes Indeed, Intelligent young minds like yours is the future for Dominica and its continuing develoment and I wish you well in your future endevours.

    (6) Religious views: I might come over as patronizing, but i note that you have also been brainwashed by your faith. Reading between the lines, what you said is a contradiction in terms, I’m referring to your Role Models, Favorite singers, Favorite Movies etc, Does your faith endorse, Killings, Adulterers. Dope takers etc?

    (7) Favorite Qoutation:: un-Qoute:” Man with his inquisitive mind will extract all the facts to get to the truth”(sic)

As a sovereign nation, part of Dominica’s future will be in creating & serving a large computer backbone service industry!

As other countries lose sovereignty, like the USA (refer to US Senate Bills 773 & 778 sponsored by the Rockefeller Robber Baron family), people of other countries will have to set up their operations on Dominica computer servers as a solution around tyrannical government control systems & over-regulation.

IT & Computer Science therefore, will be a huge part of Dominica’s future success!

Way to go Shirlon… Lets keep making St.Joseph and Dominca Proud… Keep Moving forward… God Bless you in everything you do… One love!

I’m so shocked. This one really got me. I think my week is made. First I would like to say thanks to my friends at DNO who made me feel so good about my self. Am really thankful for all the comments, good and bad. No one is perfect and I know I have faults, so the negative comments are appreciated just as much as the positive ones. Am still very young and doing my best to keep my act right. Really appreciate all your support. Young men out there lets show them that we are still good, and the bad can never outshine us.
Lots of questions and to many answers, some I will keep them to my self. Everyone knows Everybody ask around and the answers will come about. lol. peace…
