She looks tired and exhausted. Let us give her credit for that. It is not easy to hike and to the top. Some of us feel that we no longer have the energy to go on long hikes even though we try. Age and time take their toll.
I recall those youthful days in Dominica when I could walk all the way to Goodwill to as far as St. Aroment and never felt tired. The last time I visited I could not even walk half way up and in the hot sun without becoming tired. I did reach the destination but I was exhausted. It was good exercise though.
Although we do a lot of walking and for those who take the subways, running to catch a bus and climbing/walking up steps and escalators (sometimes the escalators are inoperable), even running up, it is amazing that we are not able to go on hikes and reach the top without getting tired.
As it is stated in the Desiderata, “…Take kindly the counsel of the years, graciously surrendering the things of youth… nurture strength of spirit…”
I would love to go on a hike when I visit to test my strength and resilience. As long as health and strength permit, this will be a challenge.
As an afterthought, some Vitamin E tablets, nutritious foods, fruits, fruit juices and water should help.
you not seeing de lady smiling? even if she is tired, she is enjoying it!!!!!!
@ Me
Obviously. She is not being criticized. My first thought was that she obviously appears tired and is resting. This is normal for one who is climbing. A little rest, a pause and then she continues on her way. I admire her too for venturing to climb and/or walk the trail. Dominica is mountainous and there are few flat surfaces.
reminds me of the place where they building the new state house
Hi Big
Making me laugh again? Funny!
gurly, i am a tree huger to but sometimes you have to cut trees to bring in the sunshine, you have to have a balance, dominica is far from deforestation, but thanks for the observation.
MY LADY YOU LOOKING LIKE ME TODAY THERE!! THE 7TH OF THE MONTH AND I GWAYEHING TO GET MY PAY FROM THE PWC…..I GWAYEHING TO GET THE PUBLIC SERVICE UNION TO REPRESENT MY CONCERN….ALL PEOPLE CHILDREN HAVE THEIR SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND EVERY DAY I HAVE TO GO WITH MY HEAD BOWING TO THE CHILD SCHOOL BECAUSE WE CANNOT GET OUR PAY FROM PUBLIC WORKS!!! AND EVERYBODY SILENT!!!! NOBODY TALKING ABOUT IT!!!
Interesting interpretation!!
It seems you not working since 1979 always commenting. You spending more time commenting or probably no work at PWC for you to do! I sympathise that you have not received your pay but pray a little more and I am sure something will happen soon. PUSH – pray until something happens. Do a honest day work and the Lord will soon reward you. You did not need to make that screaming comment at the poor lady.
the person who commented on the bag…the bag is totally a bother,i like to feel free when hiking, even remain thirsty rather than carry a bag…good thing someone else carry my water..she should have gotten a bag pack instead
Go for it girl. Though your path may be hard and full of obstacles, if you endure you will reach the finish line.
Lovely pic of a sista battling her way through her journey.
Priceless! I love it…
Why was this healthy green tree cut down? Hope it’s not for this trail…
do you know whether it was cut down or thrown down by the storm
the cut on the trunk well smooth. that had to be a razor wind storm that do that lol
LOve this photo. She smilin through the toture. Puts me to shame,
why are Dominicans so darn negative. It tells a lot about the mental state of the negative people just enjoy the fact that the people have agreed to share the pic of their experience. bunch of jealous crabs in barrel. WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. DISGUSTING! SMH
POOR OLD LADY, SHE LOOK TOO LASAY!
Typical Dominican, all they worth is bringing down their own, all i have to say is wow what happened to the nature isle of the Caribbean this picture reminds me of Haiti, oh what a shame cutting down trees to make coal, oh me oh my
