Health Minister responds to new approval of permanent health aide positions by Cabinet

The Honorable Cassanni Laville, Minister of Health, Wellness, and Social Services, responded to government’s authorization of the creation of thirty-four Public Health Aide roles within the Ministry, designated at Level II. Additionally, Cabinet has approved an annual budget allocation of $702,836.10 dedicated to Primary Health Care initiatives.

The decision also includes endorsing the transition of all temporary and contracted Public Health Aides into permanent positions, contingent upon completing the necessary recruitment procedures and verification steps.

Minister Laville emphasized that this move goes beyond mere employment opportunities. According to him, it underscores a deep commitment to enhancing primary and community health services.

He stated that the initiative aims to foster a sense of security, stability, and purpose for these dedicated healthcare workers, reflecting the government’s unwavering dedication to strengthening the nation’s healthcare system.
